Morning folks. Last minute predictions: Now that Manor are running, McLaren shouldn't be on the back row, but Alonso at least will be a few places further forward, mixing it with FI and Sauber. Vettel to sneak in on the front row. Hamilton pole.

What's the split now for how many cars out in q1 and q2? Lost track of the numbers.

20 cars, so 5 out in Q1 and 5 out in Q2.

I would think that McLaren have more chance if it does rain, especially Jenson.

Toro Rosso look good. Both cars just behind Ricciardo in FP3, with the same engine. So what do Newey and Horner have to say about that in regards to their attack on Renault?

I would also love Kimi to do well, I think that he would come out on top versus Seb but I have no evidence to back that up, it's just a feeling/hope.
Well fingers crossed for QF today then. Kimi doesn't seem strong at coming from behind in races lately so he could do with carrying over his free practice pace and qualifying ahead of his team mate and Williams.

Certainly Seb isn't going to blow him away though, they seem quite evenly matched.

It's a very strange choice that's for sure!

Yeah it does look a bit silly, but who cares? I'd rather he wore a massive gold chain than be a dull "for sure" driver like some of the others.

I wonder how much the Mercedes are sand bagging in the race? Last season they took it easy for the first few races.

There's even more pressure not to show their hand too early this season with everyone calling for them to be slowed down.

Wasn't Rosberg 30 seconds ahead of Vettel in Australia? They might have been holding back in practice this weekend though.

How times have changed. It was pleasant to listen to a driver with a duff car not throwing a fit.

Glad to see the F1 Thread is up to it's usual standards, concentrating on the important issues of fashion; gold chains, moustaches, haircuts etc. biglaugh

I think if it rains on race day, Ferrari could be in the mix with the Mercs, well Nico anyway.

If they can run their engines on lower power then they are so far ahead that they could have their own race, starting two hours before the main feature, the rest of the grid.

Mind you, that's what they did last season I suppose.
