In the press conference Lewis was asked about the incident and he smiled and said I don't remember hehe Very smart.

Well, that was interesting. It kind of shows what class Lewis and Seb are in terms of their sheer skill.

Nico started it but Lewis slowed down on his second lap too; Seb unlucky not to nick pole while they were playing silly buggers.
Exactly. He nobbled lewis best lap, couldn't get pole himself and to fluff at petronas home race would have been catastrophic.
It seems like a bad choice of race to start playing silly buggers, 2nd race of the season and your title sponsor's home race. I reckon you won't see Hamilton get drawn into speaking about it this weekend, looks like he's really playing the team game this weekend with the green hat and being quite animated after getting out the car etc.

Not the weekend for a huff!

maybe needs it's own thread- but is the ban on driver coaching ruinous for rosberg?

Great effort from Verstappen Junior too, that kid is 17 and his first wet session in an midfield F1 car and ends up 6th, gets a thumbs up from me.

I think Rosberg slowed to be able to follow Lewis and see what lines he was using, which is why Lewis dropped back.

The best bit abut that was Hamilton's bluff in the press conference - when asked about catching Nico on that lap Lewis just blanked him "I don't remember, so obviously not". In other words "whatever you do doesn't affect me in any way...". Thats a pretty strong message to Nico..

Watched it again and don't believe that Nico did anything wrong to be honest! Hamilton seems to agree as he said in the interview that it wasn't a problem!

Nice to see the mouthbreathers out in force here. rolleyes You all love it really...it's called entertainment.

I'm loving the gamesmanship shown by Rosberg. It is sad as it tells you how low on confidence he is..

Nice quali, as Vettel has managed to split the Mercs, if he can get a good start and hold the Mercs back during the first stint, it will be very very exciting indeed. OTOH, if Hamilton manages to scamper off with Rosberg held off by Vettel, then he will really rue the decisions he made today.

Shocker for Kimi though, I really hoped he'll get to the top ten shoot out, would've been even more exciting for the race. In any case, looking forward to tomorrow!

Arguably the highlight of qualifying.

Agreed here. I don't see the need for the derogatory comment or indeed who it is aimed at?

It hurting him I think. He can't get the knowledge about Where Lewis is faster until he's back in the garage. I think Lewis is playing a clever game of not showing his hand until it's too late for Rosberg to react. I honestly think Rosberg slowed to try and watch Lewis and Lewis just reacted by backing off so he didn't give Rosberg anything.
I'd even go so far as saying he'd let pole go to ensure Rosberg can't see what he's doing. Rosberg 's whole demeaner is different this year. He looks almost baffled by Lewis's ability to just deliver more pace, but only when he needs it.

Well done to Hamilton. Did Rosberg try to ruin his lap in Q3? I'm also happy for Vettel to be in P2. I hope he pushes Mercedes.

Very well put. It's telling that he was asking the garage about what lines to take. I'd say he has the demeanor of a beaten man already.

The lap that LH was on when he was blocked was 1/10th up in the first sector. No wonder NR wanted to stop him.

It is good to see the Merc's advantage is not quite so significant this season.

NR really needs to sort himself out. He's already upset the team, and blocking the champion and team leader on his fastest lap is not the way to endear your self to them.

Wolff has a problem. It will be fun watching how he gets over it.

Meanwhile, you have a 17 year old rookie confidently talking about his choice of lines on Sky who stuck a Toro Rosso in 6th.

I think Lewis did it a bit last year, sandbagging a teeny bit till the final but of course you hurt yourself if you do it too much, you need to find the limit.
