Great race. Brilliant job by Ferrari, both the team and the drivers.

I think Mercedes are quicker, but this shows they can't get complacent and that they really need to consider their tactics.

Why does everyone here hate Eddie Jordan so much? hehe I mean, he reminds me of an embarrassing parent trying to be cool, but he's not that bad is he?

Yeah No Horner saying that they have a new brake supplier this year, and they need to understand them and engineer them. No st sherlock! hehe

Is it just me or is EJ getting worse? I had forgotten just how bad he is so maybe it is just my memory.
He's obsessed with being the centre of attention and forgets that he is the interviewer and and not the interviewee. He would be the ideal guest for the Jonathan Ross show. They could both try and outstage each other.

Yes, usually he does. But not once on the podium did he talk about himself or Jordan F1. He asked some decent questions and made sense. Compare that to Piquet's embarrassing performance....

Agree - he adds value for me.

I like him and he's not afraid of being annoying and hassling people and asking questions that others won't ask.

Merc lost this race on Friday.

without Lewis being able to do his test programme, he did not have the right data on tyres, this was then compounded in qualifying using up all the mediums, which seemed to be the choice tyre for the race (in hindsight)

The final straw was the early pit-stop under SC, this nailed it.

with the better tyre choice, Lewis might have been able to recover from the SC pitstop.

Nico lost Merc the race, both by his playing silly buggers in Qualifying, then making a crap job of turn 1, letting Vettel though, and finally not putting up any fight on Vettel's last stop for turn 1 again.

I think Mercedes pretty much handed that to Ferrari. Very poor decision making.

On a more general note about Merecedes, I think they're going to have trouble this year. If Ferrari are now close enough to maximise on Merc's mistakes, they need to make fewer of them. Last year they benefitted hugely from the legacy of Ross Brawn's work - this year we'll be seeing the true results of the team under Toto, Paddy and Niki.

If Red Bull do decide to stay with F1, I can see a future without Horner.

Nothing could be worse than that. It set a new low.

Seb proved today that he is a "Great" - the doubters (including some F1 drivers) can shut up now! That was an amazing race and an epic win!

Shame for McHonda - but maybe a slight improvement?

Merc were beaten fair and square today, but should be pleased win a double podium! But boy does Hamilton come across as a tt on the team radio when things aren't going his way! No radio chat during corners, lol, everyone else can manage the two things at once!

He's the clear Mercedes no 2 driver now in all respects I think.

I thought EJ did well. Great to see Vettel back to his old self. So do Ferrari have a blown diffuser on that car or can we accept the fact that Seb is a superb driver?
Never hehe

He's now won races with 3 different teams, I've never been his biggest fan but you don't tend to do that on pure luck. Puts him in the current crew with Raikkonen, Alonso and Button.

I'm actually quite happy today for F1 smile. WEC in two weeks time for me so maybe I won't watch China but let's hope is as good.

My God! A race in which the fast forward button was left untouched!

Happy for Vettel, hope he enjoys his honeymoon period at Maranello. He's in a great position this year, with expectations having been so low and the car far better than most could have hoped for.

Without the early safety car pit call, it would have been even tighter IMO. Merc speed vs Ferrari tyre performance. Which when you stand back for a second is a small miracle considering what we were facing post Australia.

Fascinating Merc pit radio. Hamilton does seem to be hot and bothered when ever he speaks. He was never going to be a NASA candidate. hehe

The Merc pit wall position predictions seemed wildly optimistic in the second half of the race. Odd.

He looks a beaten man already. All that preseason talk of upping his game, not breathing in corners and putting a tampon on his head hasn't made him any faster than he was. In fact he might be slower or is Lewis just getting better race by race.

So what was nico doing on friday, is he not able to supply the necessary tyre deg data?scratchchin

but yes, given his near-thwarting of lewis pole coupled with his own inability to secure it, if the ferrari pace really is here mercedes might have to make a decision regarding making sure at least on of their drivers can finish as high as possible...

I think his mental challenge will be now, "ahh... I have to beat Vettel AND Hamilton". If Vettel takes enough points off Nico then it rapidly becomes game over.

What a fantastic race. I was actually happy to see 'the finger' win, even though I'm a LH fanboy.
