So I found an autograph book in a derelict house on the land I work. I dont follow F1 and dont know what era of drivers I have the autographs for. I know about 2 of the names, Jackie Stewart and James Hunt. Pics to follow and any advice is appreciated.

These are mostly single sides ones, there is about the same amount again but with a signature on each side.

And the last but two could be Alan Jones

Would suggest that they were obtained in 1980-ish

edit - damn - beaten to it......

Ahhh so 1980s and a couple more names revealed! Fits in with all the 80s coffee table books that were floating around the same house. Thanks.

First one looks to be Patrick Neve, which would date the signatures to between 1976-1978 if they were all from the same time.

A proper autograph book!

I wonder in 30 or 40 years if people will find mobile phones with selfies people have taken with celebs that have the same appeal?

Your "Stewart" is the correct version, KM666: the mistake was on the part of the original owner of the autograph book who seems to have annotated the page to remind himself whose illegible signature he'd obtained.

Should you wish to sell them the problem with autographs is they usually need authentication to produce the highest prices.

In the past I've found this company http://www.autographauctions.co.uk/ to be helpful. They can provide a very rough guestimate via email.

Thanks for the link! I'll have to have a chat with the landowners but I think they're keen to get rid of the books. I'll have to have another look through and make a note of the titles. I'll update with a list tomorrow, most are in english so i'll try to only include those.

Is the f1 cars comment regarding the scale models I found? If so they're all up for grabs just send me a pm.

From his autobiography, "Winning is Not Enough".

Looks to be a good match to the "found" autograph.

I've got a signed letter and photo from the Stewart Ford days, exactly the same as the one above.

Here's the letter.
