Like I said, it's just my opinion. It was amusing to then see him immediately retract his offering and say 'well my mum and dad are also amazing', trouble is the damage had been done. Chalk and cheese. Vettel couldn't even think of anyone famous to mention, it's unlikely he hasn't met anyone. Vettel, sound bloke, probably great to have a beer with and just so happens to be a racing driver. Hamilton, well, he's a talented racing driver for sure....

If someone asked me who is the most inspirational person I've met I wouldn't have put family in that category. They'd be in the most inspirational people I know camp.

Nuance of language maybe, but just my take on things.

I agree, a bit of an ambiguous question interpreted in two different ways. Also Vettel did say that he couldn't beat Lewis' answer, so I'm guessing that had something to do with it. biggrin

It was the interview today alongside Vettel. Most inspirational person you've met, Vettel...mum and dad, Hamilton...queen and Nelson Mandela.

All about the image.
It does seem to be a question based on interpretation. There is the argument that with those answers one could seem the more grounded down to earth 'normal' bloke and one just keen to come up with the 'most impressive' answer.

Or Vettel having English as a second language just means he understood it to have a different meaning to Lewis.

BBC, Lee McKenzie with LH and SV together in the main show before the race.

Ah right, that's why I didn't see it. I watch Sky.

Thanks, looked like a nice relaxed interview between two drivers who obviously get on. Can't see much to micro-analyse or criticise either person for there. smile

Exactly. Think it's only the Lewis haters who are making something out of it.

And let it not be forgot that it was Lauda that fought tooth and nail to get Hamilton to come to Mercedes.
I thought Ross Brawn was involved too. smile

He was. I believe Ross had a cuppa in their family kitchen to get him to move to Merc.

'met' being the operative word in the question that was asked. Your memory is obviously a little hazy with what was said, go watch the interview again.
