I'm sorry, I asked earlier but you missed it but how do you figure nearly a billion dollars to be competitive? Have all the teams combined spent that in 65 years?
Merc HPE have spent the thick end of this on the new powertrain.

This does not include the costs of the team.

Wow, is the whole of Daimler AGs revenues even worth that in all the time they've been in F1?

Your kidding - right?

My original post was wrong, i meant $1bn, not $1Tn

Man maths = whatever it is you're trying to justify/explain/excuse/spend on cars etc. smile

Pretty fed up with this threat cropping up every now and then from Red Bull.

Leave then, the sport existed before you arrived and it will survive your departure. The only concern I'd have is employment for the personnel and drivers.

yes

They were Stewart and Jaguar before, they would probably be something else afterwards if/when they go. Red Bull branding will carry on with track bikes, moto bikes, WRC, rallycross, air races and whatever else they do. F1 won't miss them.

Try €129.872 billion in 2014, the whole bloody world only spent $77Tr last year.

If VW had a trillion dollars to spend they'd list 15th in the global GDP according to all four listings (IMF, UN, WorldBank & CIA) and push Germany above Japan to 3rd in the GDP lists. VW's revenue was just over $190m, and has assets of $320m.
Yes, sorry, the way it's written in their financials is 117,982 (Amounts in millions of euros).

they seem to use a comma as a decimal point?

Quite common in Europe.

Seems to me like they are only complaining & maoning when things arnt going their way. When Vettel & the team won their 4 titles in a row, there was none of this 'threat to quit' etc.. talk.

Still think Red Bull won't leave the spot, simply buy out the commercial rights holder, the team sold to Audi, it becomes the Red Bull F1 World championship, with Horner as Bernie replacement.

The threat of RB buying a substantial chuck of the commercial rights has been a threat to the sport for some time. Whilst it is easy to suggest that if [whatever] happens, I'm off, I can't help but think that RBF1 might just be enough.

Extra points for taking your hand off the steering wheel while on full lock?

Horner has one thing going for him as the bloke in charge: he's not Ecclestone. But beyond that?

This is the problem, though. At the moment the sport has no defence to an outright buy-out. RB, Sky, Chinese Democratic Republic: take your pick.

The man from Del Monte would never get a job at Audi.

Are Red Bull off then?
