Flatten the bump between casino and mirabeau and you would create a pretty good overtaking spot. Yes it may be historic but it would make a big difference.

If people think it's too boring to run F1 cars around there due to the lack of overtaking, perhaps they should have a MotoGP race there instead.

Isn't that bump due to a mains sewer running under the road?

Can't see the MotoGP boys being too keen (most of them anyway) but I'd bet the TT types would love it.

Think it's a great historic part of the f1 Callander but it limits the driver to scoring point as it's so difficult to make progress, I love watching it but think it may be time to change the format. What about making it a show event with no points towards the drivers championship, the winners get the glory and the teams are awarded extra engine tokens or something along those lines.

Monaco wants tossing.

Keep it is a feature a la Goodwood maybe.

Would it help if the chicane after the tunnel was removed? Was it always there?

It was always there to some extent, but it used to be just a very fast flick as they switched from the tunnel road onto the quayside.

Watch the first few minutes of the film "Grand Prix" if you want a flavour of Monaco in the 1960s. It was shot during the 1966 season.

Sadly, the following year Lorenzo Bandini was killed at the chicane when his car hit the straw bales just after the chicane exit, flipped over and burst into flames.

The picture above looks like practice for the 1965 race and that is one of the Hondas.

Because the tunnel is flat out in a modern F1 car the Chicane is, I feel, a necessity.

Monaco is essential to F1, like Ferrari, its one of the few links left to the past, what makes F1 what it is.
