Ted Kravitz said the Lewis does actually live close to where he stopped. A few mins walk.

Ted Kravitz --hmm.

He would say anything , whether he knows it's true or not.

I heard he lived that side. So I'm going with that as well. There's some really nice buildings in that area.

He just bumped into it.
Regardless of what his intentions were it reminded me of all those times that Clarkson and Hammond let their road trip cars 'accidentally' bump into the back of May's car when they reached a rest stop. laugh

I thought knocking over the 3rd place marker was quite amusing though.
Absolutely hilarious. Loved it.

Am I alone in wanting Lewis to throw his toys out of the pram whan this happened?

Instead, yet again we get the corporate, robotic response about winning the next one instead and just looking mildly sullen. If that was me i'd have jumped out of my car, stamped on Rosberg's front wing then gone arms flailing into the garage a la Schumacher in Spa '98 vs Coulthard, kicked the chair of the strategy guy and ruffled uncle Toto's silly German hair.

Before realising that I should have taken the initiative myself and just ignore the team's call and done my own thing like Vettel did to Webber. I would have received my 3rd place trophy and celebrated like a maniac, wild-eyed as if I'd won, leaving Britney standing there flummoxed as he tries to begin his celebration, all the while slowly indicating that he is indeed an onanist.

I don't think it's down to being corporate at all.
Reactions totally depend on the person and situation. Some people go ape. Some people just go away quietly and reflect on it and let any frustration out in private.

Didn't he rip the P3 marker off the pit board on returning to the garage?

LOL! Yes in a way I would have wanted to see him show how disappointed/mad he was, same with politics though being a human is frowned upon so we get plastic people or a plastic façade at least.

I once saw him have a mini tantrum near Venice beach he was with Nicole Scherzinger, his dad and I presume his stepmom it was quite amusing.

It seemed like it was him that asked to come in as his tyres were going off, he was using his initiative just not very well, but the team also messed it up.

I like the fact he was thoroughly cheesed off, I like that he hit his marker, I like to see that it means so much to him. The minute these guys loose their passion then they are in the wrong game.

Rosberg was at least gracious with his victory, as was Hamilton towards Nico, and I applaud them both for that.

I suspect though that Nico will be the long term loser, after all, he lucked this win for which he will always be reminded, and he didn't exactly bathe himself in glory the previous year either, so to me Lewis, whilst upset, distraught, has acted in a way in which fans can and should respect.

Feel free to watch indycar - they do that all the time. It just comes across as childish and occasionally dangerous.

I agree that F1 drivers should be granted more license to get things off their chests but lets keep it professional wink

The moment I saw his car stopped I immediately suspected that he was intending to emulate Senna. However, Lewis is probably a bit more respectful of his team and the event - and he had a duty to be on the podium (which Senna didn't back in 1988) so after a few moments thought, he decided to proceed around to the start/finish line.

It didn't stop him having a mini-tantrum by running into his position marker though.
For once I think he was justified in being more than a bit pissed off to be honest.

I agree Lewis had a right to be pi***d off, but I think the reason he didn't go fully ape was because he'd called for tyres when he mistakenly thought the others had pitted, an error on his part & on the team for not telling him this. I think this was the perfect storm & Lewis got caught in it.

Originally I thought he'd stopped so that he could come into the pits at the end of the race, last, so as to make a bit of a point at how pissed off withe the team he was.

However, now that it seems that he was just as much to blame for the cock up, I think he stopped to collect his thoughts and to compose himself.
