Looks like Alonso isn't going to be heading out for qualifying.

That would be twice this season a McL doesn't make it to qualifying...has this happened to any team before?

Eta: not related to crash/fire in a prior session.

Watch Suzi & BBC or Sky & Brundle

I am happy with Sky.
Sky for me as well but I think Lazenby is a weak link

Reading between the lines in the Arrivebene it seems that both Ferrari drivers are under performing, which is astonishing really as Vettel has dropped hardly any points himself. I am assuming Marizio is referring to where the sim places the car vs actual results as I can't see where else he could get the idea that the Ferrari should be mixing it with and beating the Mercedes.
Where has he said this?! If so he is deluded.... Ferrari are still early a second a lap down in pure pace, they can't realistically expect to be doing much better than they are. Raikkonen has underperformed at Canada and Austria but on the flip side Vettel was probably lucky to win Malaysia and extremely lucky to get 2nd in Monaco.

End of the day if Alonso can't drag a donkey to a WDC then nobody can.......... They need to deliver a truly winning car before they start bhing about the drivers.

The opening line with Brundle was about Vettel, the closing statement was about both drivers.
Yeah but I didn't see the article so I was wondering where / exactly what he said.

So predictions for Qualy.....

1. Ham
2. Ros
3. Vet

I've gone for Lewis as it's his home Grand Prix, but Nico has been in fine form the past couple of races and could take it pretty close.

I misread the positions then. I thought for a second Button (But) was third. A bit of excitement there.

As for the post count on the F1 threads, it's all this bickering like school girls about Hamilton that puts me off.
No you're wrong there - we both have blue eyes. Are you Lewis's Dad?

(If you mean jealous you really don't understand human nature and your place in the world do you? It is at least 40 years since I had any ambition to be a racing driver and aforesaid son is a computer programmer and doesn't even drive a car)

McLaren are 1.5s slower than the Ferrari on the mediums at a high speed track like this. Improvement?

Well, I was working on the basis that neither car broke down on track during Quali, thus an improvement...

I suppose it's better than being 1.6s slower. But still...

Yes I know it's not "technically" berni.

Alonso and Button - what a terrible waste of driving talent. They must be absolutely gutted being in that team at the moment.

Before they do what? They aren't going to quit F1, they aren't going back to Merc or any other engine manufacturer and they say they arnt going to build there own.

They've selected the path and need to see it through. Just painful for them and us as fans.
