This. Back over a second gap now we are on a fast track with flowing corners. Like I've said several times this year, the 'threat' from Ferrari is nowhere near as much as the media (or Ferrari management) are making out.

It has been a long time coming, making it all the more delightful.

You do feel as if they are back, don't you.

Yeah. Also, it's funny how there are no mentions of rocketships, it's just the car etc.

More to the point, Williams are showing them the way...

Agree. Both cars seemed to come to life with good drives from both drivers.

Yep, great to see Williams doing well....... although the gap to Merc is still huge.

Be interesting to see how the race unfolds and to see if Ferrari can overtake Williams during the race...... I suspect not given performances so far this year. They could even be under threat from behind.

I think everyone does. I hope for a tyre war just so Pirelli make an effort.
Not Pirellis fault though shirley? I was under the impression that they are just making what they are being told to make.

Yes and no..

They were asked to make tyres with high wear rates, what we have is not just that but they are very sensitive to being pushed too hard/temp sensitive.

As soon as there is competition, they will get slaughtered.

Great result for Mercedes (again) and also Williams.

I'm just hoping the race doesn't end up as a demonstration run.

I think up to 6th will be lapped by the end, with the Mercs coming in a controlled 20s up the road.

Sounds about right. Boring 1-stopper. The Ferraris just don't work on the harder tyres.

Is there any penalty in the race for running wide at copse?
