They only reflect the quality of F1 in general so what's the issue?

rolleyes Haters gonna hate....

I think he has a point, compare the iconic FA Cup or the Champions League trophy, Wimbledon etc etc with that silver dish adorned with a corporate logo he received for winning the Canadian GP! Its a joke, I totally agree with Lewis, each Country should have a nice big trophy, you win the race you get the trophy for a year and a replica forever, the original is engraved with your name and next year its up for grabs again. How fantastic would it be for the sport if there were trophies engraved with names like Clark, Senna, Prost, Moss, Villeneuve, Peterson, Andretti etc etc handed out each year instead of plastic garbage

Couldn't agree more.

I'm not hating, just saying that F1 has bigger issues than the state of the trophies, I have usually turned off well before the awards presentation and a shiny piece of tin will not change that.

Having recently visited the Williams heritage collection I think he has a point. I was surprised at how cheap some of the trophies looked when you got up close.

Like the 2014 British GP trophy that broke? http://www.thisisf1.com/2014/07/06/hamilton-disapp...

I wonder if Silverstone and Santander have done a better job this year, we'll find out at the weekend.

He's mentioned it more than once. And he's right, the trophy for winning a GP should be special, not some tacky lump of plastic sponsor logo that looks like it fell out a box of frosties.

What was it, "where's the real one?" at silverstone. LMFAO. Kimi disses something and all the fanboys on here want to man mate him, lewis does it and it's all WAAAHH gold chains pop stars etc.

I could, and will.

That wooden thing, I mean WTF - even Little Ex looked on and said 'What kind of a trophy is that?'.

What I really want is for them to burn the car that does the fasted race lap, cram the ashes into a little wooden urn and then next week send that team out in a go-kart...

But yeah, the trophies are a bit pants some times.

Oi! As a child I remember saving Frosties tokens up for at least a hundred years in order to get a metal diecast Thunberbird 2, it had little plastic legs that sprung out and there was a yellow plastic Thunderbird 4 in the pod.

I had hours and hours of fun in the bath with that.

I doubt Lewis is playing with his "trophies" in the bath.

Totally agree, in some people's minds he's always going to be wrong even if they admit they turn off halfway through a race so don't have much of a clue... rofl

Completely agree. And Lewis is right, the trophies are st. That floppy red Santander logo one I saw last year was ridiculous.

The wreaths have gone, and the metal trophies. Next year they're going to be spraying bottles of Bucks Fizz at eachother.

Is this really a priority at the moment? Is it even significant given the current state of affairs?

And, even as a fan of F1, I wouldn't compare a single GP with winning the FA Cup or Champions League trophy.

There seems to be a big old bandwagon of people who keep banging on that he's a "bad guy" evan though when challenged they have no explanation or actual idea why beside weak conjecture, ad hom and other nonsense. He's like the tory party of F1.
