Hamilton for pole and the win.

Given his record here, dragging a win out of the hound that was the '09 McLaren and his performance last year, I can't see anybody else is in the game.

Anyone have any information on transport between central Budapest and the circuit?
Taxi is (was 2013) 35 euros each way fixed rate..

Dont the train or bus.. long walk when you arrive.

Never been to the Hungaroring before, looking forward to it.
Same here, on both counts. It's a new race and country for me.

Looks like it's going to be a very very hot one.

I've always thought that the Hungaroring has been way ahead of it's time as a GP circuit.....It managed to create the most boring processions along with featureless corners at least 20 years before Tilke came along with his ruinous circuit designs
Was a communist state with very little motorsport heritage too. It's ok though as it's Europe and potatoes are a staple. TBH I struggle to see the difference between Hungary in 1986 and Sochi, Istanbul, Baku, Yas Marina... Atleast Korea has a massive car industry even if the location and logistics of their track was absurd.

Still, it's a massively popular track with bums on seats from all over Europe with 3 day crowds comfortably over 200,000. There's a hell of a lot of tracks that wouldn't mind a crowd that size, both traditional and Tilkerings alike.
It's like a home GP for the Finns don't the pundits always say?

With Räikkönen, Bottas and Rosberg driving it's like they have 2 and 1/2 Finns to cheer on. There are three Finns in the top three most competitive teams.

I thought Istanbul was a pretty good circuit.

Hope it's a good race and it will be interesting to see if McLaren do a bit better as they suggested might be possible. Hard to see past a Mercedes 1-2 and Ferrari behind them.

I don't believe a word RD, or anyone from McLaren, says these days.
Do you believe what Alonso or Button says?

He only believes them if they say unpleasant things about Hamilton.

We got here (central Budapest, not camping) on Wednesday and it's been stupidly hot, forecast say 37/38 but it's felt even hotter than that. The overground train out to the track yesterday had no aircon and was a nightmare. We did have a thunderstorm smack in the middle of the pit walk and another one last night so it will probably be even more humid today (eek). Great place to stay though, very cheap to eat and drink, beer in a shop is around 50p per can, only about £1.50 out at the track.

Perez lucky to escape big crash FP1. Red flagged.

Right rear wheel failed.

Weird one, what's flipped it over? I don't think it's the start of the culvert/ditch, nor the advertising hoarding.
