And Im glad- the terrible spit stops/decisions that cost Lewis in his first year onwards, then their treatment of him during the final year. fk em. They are well past their peak and it looks like Walker and Santander are bailing on them too.
If it really is true that Ron turned down 40+ mil a year for Johnnie Walker to be title sponsor then you do have to wonder...
Seeing what Williams have done with a quarter of the money from Martini, JW must be thanking thier stars the deal didn't come off.
They lost Hugo Boss too I see. I appreciate Honda are effectively footing the bill - but the Mcl has more blank canvas than even the Marussias and the prize money this year won't be great.
Ron seems to refuse to 'change down' a gear, realise his team are not where he might like them to be and work as a mid level team at best. I don't know if that is admirable - to maintain that belief even in pressing uncertainty - or foolhardy.

I don't know how Jenson manages to do those interviews. Talk about gritted teeth and biting your tongue.
I thought it was a strange answer. Basically refusing to level any criticism at the chassis instead saying its 'a package'. Has been a few comments during the year which have clearly mocked the Honda power unit. Maybe a very professional answer to avoid too much direct criticism of his employer.
I got the impression theres a barely repressed smouldering rage and he's ready to go full john clease tree branch on the mc at any moment

Also it's probably stating the obvious with the new kid and all but britney really was looking terrible yesterday, like he'd forgotten his makeup, can't be helping his form

I must confess that when Jenson concluded with "still, it could be worse", I half expected the interviewer to respond with "how?", but instead she let him off.

So, Verstappen's bodywork. You know when you take something apart, and you've got bits left over when you've put it back together again? hehe

The other teams tech people must be looking very closely at these photos to see what they did under the skin. And yes it does look good.

This is why I support Nico, he's not as naturally gifted but (almost) makes up for it with analysis and plain hard work; personally I respect that. Lewis' driving is amazing to watch, but I think he's as much a passenger as the rest of us. Having said that it's quite cute how some weeks he sandbags and saves it all for Q3, other weeks he puts in a fast lap in FP and says there's more where that came from, forcing Nico into a mistake.

It's bound to weigh on Nico's mind after they work together for a while and share all their data; the problem is if he finds a step on the setup it will just be put on Lewis' car too.
You're massively underestimating Nico there, remember he is the only team mate to give Micheal Schumacher a shoeing.
No, he's the only driver that was ALLOWED to give MS a shoeing because Mercedes let them race

What happened with verstappen's body work? Was it deliberately run like that because they couldn't get it fastened in time or did it fall off?

It ripped off. It's happened many times to noble owners when they forget the clips.

According to some reports they knew is wasn't fasted properly. but thought it would last the lap. Deserve all the punishment they've got.

I think the 'we have a great chassis' line has been seen for what it is over the last few races.... basically total BS. They have a decent chassis but it isn't the second best or whatever other crazy claims were made about it earlier in the year.

McLaren have issues in every department.

Side note - notice how after Spa Alonso was talking himself up for beating Jenson (despite the fact Jenson was down on power), yet after today Jenson says something about out qualifying Alonso....... Fernando could learn something there. .
Or it could just be they have to remove as much downforce as possible because of the lack of power meaning they would be even slower at high speed tracks?

And in regards to the Button/ Alonso point; Button has made similar comments about beating Alonso before. It's just being silly and following in the criticism of Hamilton or Rosberg because you support one, not what they are actually like.

Well, Honda perhaps.... maybe the other engine teams not so much!

Johnny Herbert always said that the main error he made when team mate (!) to MS was outqualifying him. From that day on, he got no read outs from MS and yet MS got free access to his. His days were numbered.

Will Stevens 13th on the grid tomorrow! This penalty system is a joke.

Though I would love to see Manor pick up a point.

As we head in to the later season, are we going to see more engines fail on track? If so, a great opportunity for Manor?
