Redbull not to use Renault engines in 2016

Apparently Christian Horner said something rather cryptic on the BBC show yesterday? 'Ron Dennis may not like what's going to be announced'. Bit of a strange thing to say.

Also the Renault takeover of Lotus STILL hasn't been authorised by the board and may, actually, not happen after all.

Which would surely mean the death of Lotus/Renault/Benetton team wouldn't it?

Ted's notebook rambling was that the deal was done for Lotus to be brought by Renault (as brokered by Berni)

Also, 99.9% sure RB will still have a Renault (Mecachrome) engine next year, although it may well be called something else!

What's the possibility of it being a Merc unit? Toto was fairly noncommital I thought and 'Ron being annoyed' could easily be construed as being jealous after Mc's switch from Mercedes to Honda.

I think "Ron being annoyed", is part of the speculation that the RBR/Renault/Illien unit will be named Tag. That's Ron's heritage there.

Yes, Manor should have the Merc engine 2016, (although with the departures from Manor, that may be in doubt)
