Not a single comment on here yet about the qualifying result.

Indeed. It's been a bad weekend, no action worth talking about during practice and a qualifying that went basically as expected....
Only mildly interesting bit was Hamilton's clear disappointment. Has anyone ever stared so long at the back of an F1 car just to avoid making eye contact with his teammate?
Hopefully, the race will be better.
Feels like one of those weekends that just has a very uncomfortable vibe about it. The diesel spill and rain killing off Friday, Sainz crash which in turn cancelled the GP3 race, the big GP2 shunts forcing them into a twilight sprint race etc.
I'm glad I'm not one of the 46 people actually at the circuit because I can't remember a weekend with so little actual track time.
I'm going to head out to see the Vulcan rather than sit through the race tomorrow, very unusual for me but like Valencia I just can't drum up any enthusiasm for this race/circuit.

Very funny of Nico to explain what had happened this year - the other guy is driving better!
Let's see who finishes on the top step tomorrow though. Suspect we are going to see Max going for overtakes all over the show... Actually and Nasr...
I kind of hope Carlos is racing too, but I don't know if tomorrow he is going to feel badly bruised.

Here's an overhead view, the double layer of techpro barriers had gaps between them, the 1st layer of barriers are not secured to the red sections in between and not to the 2nd layer of techpro behind, which is the concept behind dissipating the energy and it did work.
However add speed, collapsed suspension on a lower nosed car and it went under.
You can say that the barriers did their job because they moved, if they didn't it would have been another kind of bad accident.
So do we point the finger at the low nose of the current cars? Or just suck it up and say he's ok so that's the job it's designed to do successfully achieved?
Or, just looking at the photo could it be the change of surface that caused it, the barriers would be sliding flush with the tarmac but once they got pushed onto the grass maybe the back edge caught in the grass tilted back and then the car went under?

I don't think Horner likes EJ
Truth hurts, doesn't it, and an interesting insight into Horner's petulance, perhaps?Horner said:
Eddie talking out of his arse as usual I'd say

Anybody heard the interview with Ted and lauda in the notebook? Lauda is actually a very funny guy and I could listen to his interviews and insight all day long.
'Were all going to chill out tonight, Toto was dancing on the tables last night', the guys a legend!
Did you hear him ask Lauda if he was going to watch netflix and chill with that woman?'Were all going to chill out tonight, Toto was dancing on the tables last night', the guys a legend!
