Who ever happens to fall into the fastest car at the time first. Jann Mardenborough looked like he was heading to F1 but seems to have stalled a bit.

Won't it be Lewis Hamilton again?

I can't see Button or Will Stevens doing it.

Next in line might be someone new like George Russell.

Lewis Hamilton again I reckon.

This will continue whilst Merc has no competition. Boring. biggrin

I've really grown to like Jenson these last couple of years.... I never had much time for him previously but there is little doubt he has stood up well to Alonso this year.... OK it may be a different story given a competitive car because we know how good Alonso is when he gets a sniff of victory, but it is still a good year for Jenson and hard to justify why Fernando is getting paid twice as much really.

Honda are making steps in the right direction and if Jenson continues to drive well I can't see any reason why they would necessarily want to replace him for 2017.... if the car is competitive then who is to say he couldn't win a second WDC?

One might also ask who will be the next World Champion of any nationality after Lewis. He could conceivably go on a run here for another two or three years. Who else will be around in F1 then?

Still open to interpretation. Lewis Hamilton is World Champion 2015. The next British world champion after that could well be Lewis Hamilton.

Maybe Alex Lynn, I thought Seb Morris a few years ago after watching him in the Ginetta Juniors. Lando Norris seems a good shout too.

If Oliver Rowland got a decent seat then I think he has the ability to challenge for the title but I doubt he'll get into F1 sadly.

All the drivers mentioned so far have missed the boat for lack of money rather than lack of talent.
You probably want to look to something like Formula Renault now, given their ages.

Ben Barnicoat or Jack Aitken perhaps? Ben is on the McLaren program.

To be honest I don't see the next British WDC in the set of drivers I know about. Whoever it is probably hasn't got much of a profile yet.

I think I agree with you, Formula Renault is the place to look.
I'll be watching out for Lando Norris in his first year with that farmula
