Well Schumacher did punt Hill off to secure a WDC. Live by the sword die by the sword.

OP didn't say he said anything wrong, just seems disrespectful/daft when MS is unable to respond due to life threatening illness.

Difficult to comment without knowing what was said around the comment and what question had been asked. The comment picked up on is very selective, and can certainly be said to be true - Lewis hasn't deliberately driven into another car to win a championship, he has never had a teammate told to move aside to let him pass to gain more points and hasn't asked for (or been given) number one status within a team.

Sure, Schumacher can't respond but it doesn't mean that comparisons can't be made - maybe the question asked was How do you see what you have achieved as different from that achieved by Schumacher?

would it make a difference if he was dead?

how does his current situation change what he did back then?

It doesn't change it, pal, its just, most folks are keeping a good thought for MS right now. I was a fervent Hill fan, but I think it is poor taste to vent on a person in his state. I don't think LH switches his brain on before he opens his mouth at times.

Odd that he failed to mention that his hero Senna resorted to similar tactics to win as Schumacher did. In fact it was Senna who probably started it.

I think you'll find the Hamilton did exactly that in the USA the other week, not that it made much difference this time, I grant you.

And it's not like Hamilton doesn't have the stain of cheating on his record either is it?

Seems Hamilton's ego has grown bigger than Chris Evans'

I don't recall Schumacher dissing Prost over his political games in winning races, he just got on with his job.
Schumacher actually lived in the old house at Fiorano circuit, testing and developing every day and night when not away at actual races.
That's why he and his car were so damn fast.

so, nothing to do with illegal parts, flexible floors, questionable tolerances, etc etc etc?

quite apart from having a team-mate contracted to give way on demand and the FIA as backup in-case anybody questioned your car?

Barcelona 1996

"Watching the Ferrari, I don't think the car was that brilliant. It looked like it was on ice. The guy is just something else. Four seconds a lap quicker than we were." - James Robinson, Williams engineer

"It was not a race. It was a demonstration of brilliance. The man is in a class of his own; there's no one in the world anywhere near him." - Stirling Moss

nobody sad he could not drive, that's not what's at issue, ie. he was a massive cheat.

Lance Armstrong is a great cyclist too I guess?

It's a 10 second clip from a German website - we don't even hear the question. I wonder if they are perhaps trying to generate some publicity?

every single F1 team has breached regulations at some point. That's the nature of pushing the edge for competitive gain.

As for the truth about team-mates, you should have a chat with Eddie Irvine at some point
