Don't have a problem with his comments. He certainly hasn't been gifted his way to three WDC titles, unlike schumacher.
Let's not forget this brilliant "win" for schuey:

Seven times champion my arse. He was good, but got a lot of help along the way.
I don't think anyone is disputing that in his heyday Schumacher had more than his fair share of questionable antics, but moreover it's the context.

There are probably a few F1 drivers that privately would make the same sort of statements, but when someone is in the condition Schumacher finds himself in now, it's rather poor taste to be bringing his name into disrepute when he has no right of reply whatsoever. I'm sure his wife, and possibly Schumi himself, would trade all of his championships and race wins for good health.

As has been said already though Hamilton has form for this sort of behaviour in the media (see "Vettel's dominance boring fans", throwing his toys out the pram when he thought Button had unfollowed him on Twitter, etc).

Do you know when this footage was filmed?

Pre Mexico i think, with Puma ...context was that there were reports in the Italian press that were stating that he was more like Schumacher than Senna (after Austin) ...& that's the question that's being asked

Pre-accident he has had his chance to reply to those criticisms. At a drivers' meeting in 2006 he gave a farewell speech but never apologised for whatever wrongs he had done; when he was a guest as The Stig in Top Gear Jezza mentioned the cheated and whilst Schumi just sat there with that stupid smirk of his.

I'm a fan of Schumi but there are flaws that are difficult not to acknowledge.

Hamilton is no saint either eg. the lying to the stewards episode at the 2009 Australian GP which led to Dave Ryan getting the sack but at least Hamilton - who races hard and (perhaps arguably if you're Nico fan!) fair and hasn't deliberately punted out a rival.

Ah, so a little context creeping in. Schumacher was dragged into it in the first place by some Italian paper, and then at a presser, another journo asked LH his reaction to the comparison. Not much to see here really is there?

Indeed, context is everything like I've been saying all along.....but people seem to get a bit blinkered and jump on the hate train....

Yeah it must have been a 'no homework' day at school, too much time on their hands and nothing better to do lol .....

None of the drivers past or present are 'perfect', simply because they are human and not friggin robots.
Hamilton certainly has not had an easy ride any more than any other driver, and to be honest, I can't see what he said was anything other than correct.
It just seems to get the fanboy's & Hater's all worked up whenever any driver says anything whatsoever these days, people will take it and twist it band it shape it however they feel it fit's their own agenda.
I just watch the races and enjoy the driving.

I think you do have to take into account the car advantage Lewis has had these past two seasons. It's something else, and all credit to Merc. they were, what, nearly 1s a lap faster than everyone else in Mexico?

Take it into account compared to what? All those championships won by a slow car? wink

Very rarely has a car been this dominant (we are talking 1s faster than the second place car here) consistently for two years.
I mean obviously Lewis adds 0.6s (because he matched Alonso) but even so.

Of course we've had cars this dominant before.

People seem to have short memories.

It seems even with the biased UK media coverage, especially from the BBC, Hamilton's character and conduct remains somewhat Marmite for the viewing public. On track let's hope for closer and more sustained battles next season.
