I think the only other mystery from that period is why anyone was mystified about Hamilton wanting to get out of there. smile
He didn't want to get out. Lauda persuaded him to leave.

Why reply then? banghead Who asked me to speak? I'm such a for trying to contribute.....

Since it seems to bother you for some reason - (I think) I heard it on Radio 5's Chequered Flag podcast in an interview with Hamilton. He said he was approached by Lauda but his response was 'why leave McLaren, I'm winning races?', 'why join a team that finished 5th?'. I can't remember what he said Lauda's response was.

When you are in a team which is super-controlling, yet on a downward path, and you can't manage to beat Jenson Button, and yet you consider yourself to be both John A-List Flamboyant Celeb and The Chosen One, then you would be open to the suggestion of leaving. But I bet N Lauda had to work bloody hard to make Merc sound like a worthwhile destination. hehe

But Lauda was true to his word bow

I'm sure Schumacher (if he ever recovers) would be delighted to point out all the development work he put in to help Hamilton win his championships.

And him being crushed by Rosberg. He should thank Rosberg for all the help developing the car he then beat him in. hehe

Good god I dread to thing what these people that constantly make up threads about Lewis being 'this and that' will do when he retires.
I'd imagine some of their heads will literally EXPLODE....

I CAN'T WAIT biggrin

Pourquoi Edbois Boisbois n'a tant de consonnes dans son nom?
Sinon, il serait Eois Oisois.

^ Does he ever stop? He was one of the ones moaning about Redbull dominance a couple of years back and now HE has an even more dominant car he is letting it go to his head slightly.

I think Button might have a point when he said "He's (Lewis) pretty quickly becoming arrogant."

Hmmmmmm... but once again he's right. You might not like it but Lewis's first teammate was double world champ Alonso... Vettel hasn't ever shared a team with such a stellar talent. No disrespect to Webber or Kimi. In any case, Vettel is awesome and deserves his WDCs ... but that doesn't make Hamilton wrong in what he says.

I agree, and one the evidence of 2014 Ricciardo is a better driver than Vettel.
