Sadly Lewis lost all of my respect on his views/outlook when he didn't remove his cap for the Justin Wilson memorial in Italy. **** of the highest order IMO.

Get a grip chaps. It's a hat. One hiding a dubious hairstyle at that. Had anyone checked if he has Tweeted a photo wearing a poppy today?

If he's proudly British, let's hope he WAS wearing a poppy. Mind you, his mid-Atlantic accent isn't too convincing wink

Don't have a problem with his comments. He certainly hasn't been gifted his way to three WDC titles, unlike schumacher.
Let's not forget this brilliant "win" for schuey:

Seven times champion my arse. He was good, but got a lot of help along the way.

Hamilton's opinion is much like his fashion sense - completely irrelevant.

When and why did he turn into a fking weirdo? Looking back at races from 07/08 he just seemed like a normal bloke you could have a drink and a laugh with. Now he seems to think he's Jay Z's secret love child.
I can only imagine he has a ridiculous amount of hangers-on and yes men surrounding him which has caused his ego to swell so much, he can no longer remove his head from his own arse!

One last opinion I may aswell voice is, I can never respect Hamilton. The reason being is every other WCD has started their F1 career in a midfield/back of the grid team. They have had to prove themselves and fight their way into a better car/team. Sometimes this takes years and years for even the best drivers to achieve. The most frustrating thing about Hamilton is that he just walked straight into the best team/car at the top of the grid and to this day, still doesn't realise and acknowledge how lucky he has been!

I would say out of all the past WCD, he has had the most help/easiest ride. His achievements pale in comparison to Schumachers.

I don't get why you can't respect Hamilton for being a WDC because he jumped straight into a top car....

....surely he earns that right by being Renault champion, f3 champion and gp2 champion, beating rosberg and vettel along the way.....do you not think that his performance against alonso in his first year.....matching him on points and narrowly missing out on the championship proved that he deserved that drive? And let's face it, the second and third championships haven't come easy....he's had to wait and get himself in the right team to earn them. Vettel managed to prove his worth in toro Rosso and then jump into a monster of a car for 4 world championships.

I can't fathom how you can say he has had an easy ride! Think of all the dogs of a car he has driven at mclaren and the first year of Mercedes between his 1st and second championship.....vettel had 1 learning year at toro Rosso, and then jumped straight into a championship ca for 4 years....after being brought up through the red bull ranks.....

Oh and I might as well add Villeneuve, Stewart, fittipaldi, fangio, regazzoni, mclaren, Montoya were amongst other drivers to win in their first year.....Villeneuve in the Williams, fangio in the Alfa, mclaren in the cooper, fittipaldi in the lotus....all of those cars went on to win the championship that year......Hamiltons car didn't.....so surely those drivers had a better car and easier ride?!

I have searched and searched for the pre-race interview of Australia 2007 to find this and cannot find it anywhere. Was starting to think it was my imagination. This is when I lost all respect for him.

Even that Ferrari was a dog when Schumacher joined the team. Took plenty of work and patience in getting it up the grid.

Plenty of work, patients flexible wings and dodgy barge boards and teammates moving over for him amongst other things.....

.....not saying he isn't a great, he's clearly one of the best drivers in f1 history....just people slate Lewis, but most of the time have flawed arguments.....why don't they just say Lewis isn't their cup of tea instead of coming up with some bullst excuse...

...shumey wasn't my cup of tea when he was racing, but it's only when the greats have gone do you realise what you are missing, I suspect it will be the Same when Lewis and vettel retire....they may not be everyone's cup of tea but they are both incredible drivers and there's always action and controversy around them....take them out of the equation and you end up with an f1 full of boring monochrome PR sensitive drones

Vettel got no help from Red Bull before he drove for them in F1 did he?

And I doubt that growing up on a kart track helped Schumacher much either.

I'm guessing a drink with Rubens would shine a light onto the subject too, and a drink with jos would shine a light onto traction control at hockenheim too!

In the 1998 Japanese Grand Prix it wasn't just team mates who moved over for him. Whilst he didn't win the championship that year in the last race he had a chance but stalled on the grid so started from the back. He passed many cars on his way to the front but after the race Damon Hill said that he was asked to move over for Michael to pass but refused to do so (Ralf in the other Jordan already had made it easy for his brother if I remember rightly). Through someone I knew who had very close links to the Jordan team it was confirmed to me that Bernie asked Jordan (and presumably other teams) to ask their drivers to let Michael through. If it happened then, who knows when else it did.

Quoted for prosperity. Classic load of bollicks.

To 'walk' into a top team.. you're right - that's got to be luck; the like of which I've never seen! Beating a double world champ teammate in his first year was also luck I guess.

My god.

certainly, and it's worth having a Marker's Mark with ex-team mate Brundle too. He will illuminate with insight such as;

“We saw Michael Schumacher yesterday on his best qualifying lap adjusting the brake balance in the middle of that corner - unbelievable. I talked to a few drivers about that and they could not believe he had enough command over the car to be able to do that.”

When you listen to insight from Brundle, Irvine, Moss et al, they rate Schumacher in a league of his own.
