Personally I hope Merc get a right kicking over that decision from all and sundry, it doesn't matter a damn who wins, give us a bloody race, sorry Mercedes that's pathetic.

6 laps left, but that's all finished anyway. I'm hoping for a much more chaotic season next year.

Shoddy merc strategy. Perfectly orchestrated to keep nico and Lewis away from each other. Should be on SS tyres..

yes rookie of the year, certainly. A great future in the sport ahead of him too. Multiple WDC in my opinion.

I'm normally a good sport but I've got fingers crossed for a Rosberg DNF now.

It's just not a drivers championship anymore is it.
If you're too fast we'll turn your engine down or we'll turn your team mates up so he can match you.

^this^

They've got the constructor's sewn up. Lewis has 1st sewn up. Nico has 2nd sewn up. Let them race and if they take each other off then at least it'll provide something worth watching that doesn't involve Max Verstappen.

They've been doing it all year, as they have been running the other strategies. No one on here was complaining when Hamilton was winning. But now that he's being beaten regularly it's all wrong?

What is this that makes some people think they know better than one of the most successful teams in F1 history?

Poor show Mercedes. It's one thing to tell your drivers not to bang wheels but quite another to intentionally stuff up the strategy of your drivers to keep them apart.

I thought merc were actually permitting something interesting to be tried with the strat there.... for shame.

For a team I've extolled the vitues of in both letting and managing ros/Ham fighting it out in a way the so-called legends of the sport could learn from.... they've really blotted their copy book these last few races.

Mercedes pretty blatantly protected Rosberg for this race.

A shame, particularly when everything is wrapped up. I hope they get a lot of flak for it.

Mercedes are run as a marketing team not a racing team.
It goes to show how deep F1's problems are. Too many team personnel attending races, vast amounts of real time data and over analytical and therefore diminishing the role of the driver.

My idea would be to reduce team personnel; a basic real time telemetry (like the control ECU) and everything else should be data acquisition ie. as it was in the 90s when data was downloaded on to laptops when the cars were back in the garage.

It's been happening for decades, we just get more information now than we ever have done before, so know about it.

Apart from the fact there's fk all at stake for Mercedes, just a race to enjoy, or it could have been.

I'm annoyed. 9 pages of discussion by race end.

The Arabs can launch as many fireworks as they like, it won't disguise the fact the championship ended with a fizzle rather than a bang.
