Yep Rosberg has had the measure of Hamilton for the last few races of this season, and had the pace advantage again in Abu Dhabi. He probably would've won even if Mercedes hadn't knobbled Hamilton. That's the worst thing- it should've been a race between Rosberg and Hamilton and it wasn't. It was contrived. I can't imagine either of the drivers want the result to be determined that way.
How was it contrived. Merc gave LH the choice of tyre and he said in post-race interview he didn't know which one was best. His engineers made the choice at that point.I have to say that MB seem to think the drivers need to be controlled. The title is over so let them race each other and if Rosberg blows away Hamilton then so be it but it does come across as whoever r is
Is in the lead shouldn't be challenged. I'm sure if Hamilton had been ahead then Rosberg wouldn't have been allowed to do his thing either. A negative approach from Mercedes imgo.

yes, but whatever, the decision was 5+ laps late.deadslow said:
come out from under that collander, LH is big enough to fight his own battles. You people would embarrass him.
where did that come from? It's not exactly an arguable point is who chose not to pit lewis the lap after Nico.
by letting lewis carry on,the only possible strat was to run on the SS, which they then chose not to.
That level of indecision or whatever you call it, it's unforgivable.

Well it was his (LH) indecision or lack of leadership. It's not exactly an arguable point is who chose not to pit lewis the lap after Nico.

11 pages of threads on an entire GP - have seen more after FP1 in the past and this must reflect a general lack of interest in the season finale.
F1 does need fixing but don't blame the guys who run or drive the silver cars. When I first got stuck into F1 in the 1970's it was the guys in the black cars who did all the winning, often the result was orchestrated but neither Mario nor Ronnie moaned about it. Nothing changes. If you own the red team, the grey team or the drinks can team you just need to catch up...Jenson's great little talk after the flag underlined this.
As for the pre-rostrum room - where's the joy ?? The winner has won 3 GP's on the trot, 2nd place man has won the WDC for the 3rd time and the 3rd place man has driven a fine race and has the honour to drive for the greatest GP team of all time. Yet they all looked as though they were in the dentist's waiting room about to be called in for root canal treatment. I honestly believe that if President Putin had barged in (again) he would have lightened the atmosphere..
However - hearing (in the last few laps) that Nico's car was being detuned remotely to compensate for Lewis's bad luck was beyond belief - surely the answer is to add noise, power and, above all, give decision making back to the drivers rather than it being determined by some boffin on the end of a sat. link.
Final 2 thoughts :
F1 is full of high profile fathers - so where is Keke ???
I'm really looking forward to seeing Fernando in the Audi up against Webber in the Porsche at Le Mans next year (I kid you not..)

TW came on the telly and said they gave LH the choice. LH was later questioned and asked why he didn't go onto the other tyre - he clearly stated 'he didn't know which one was best'. Work it out.
out of context, that's almost meaningless.if they asked him just before he came in, then t was already too late.

Keke has always had a fairly hands off approach to Nico's racing career so it wouldn't surprise me if he was enjoying himself somewhere nice wondering how he's managed to sire such a miserable offspring. FA in an Audi next year? No way but if he does I'll donate a fiver to your favourite charity. F1 is full of high profile fathers - so where is Keke ???

"Audi also revealed it will retain the same drivers of Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer, Benoit Treluyer, Lucas di Grassi, Loic Duval and Oliver Jarvis, but will not run a third car at Le Mans. "
