Which is so bad it's laughable.

Poor Ted doesn't have a clue what he is talking about.

I do wish they would employ an engineer for the testing programs at least.
agreed...

Really does look grim for McHonda...

Rosberg been banging in 1.27's on the mediums, fastest of anyone on race pace, Alonso doing 1.29's on the softs on long runs....

Now, who's doing an mp4-31 in a skip picture...

Just dropping in to state the obvious.
Ferrari looking very good, but we won't know how quick they are until Raikkonen's in the car. If the pace is still there then there is hope for a decent season of racing. The midfield looks interesting, not really surprised that Toro Rosso are not a part of it having lost their Techie Direckie to the A-team.
At least McLaren will have a team to race this year back there, maybe two!

For all the money apparently spent at Manor...they're still running the huge nose that every other team has ditched!
I'd imagine today is about getting everything bedded in for them, then the performance will come.
And yet they were still 5.5 secs quicker today than in qualifying at the same circuit last yesr. Hopefully a good sign.

Wouldn't read too much into Ferrari being on the face of it quickest. If I remember rightly they did this last year too, and then it took them a while to get competitive still. I think there's a big thing with Ferrari about pleasing the sponsors and media back home.

F!Technical reports

'Having completed more than the targeted mileage on the first day of testing, and actually topping their mileage record from any test session since the introduction of the current engine regulations, Mercedes are again one step ahead of the competition as they have already started to add new aerodynamic components on their car, a single day after the W07 debut.'

It seems that testing, as ever, offers different agendas to different teams.

Seb did seem genuinely happy yesterday in his interview, a lot more than can be said for others.

...if Kimi seems happy in an interview THEN we would know for sure!

McLaren ready for another epically miserable season I see. Improvement in reliability (from almost zero!) but reduction in speed (from almost zero!). After the F1 test they completed less than half the laps Merc did and were 4 seconds a lap slower and broke down at least twice. Honestly why JB and FA want to drag themselves through another miserable season with McLaren at the moment is beyond me.I feel (a bit) for FA who will see SV challenging strongly again this year.surely? Any other form of motorsport would be more satisfying than racing Manors whilst getting lapped by almost everyone else.

FFS: |I see that they also couldn't lap faster than a fking Manor! Heads need to roll, now!

Tbh, Vettels barely any closer to winning the championship than Alonso is. If it ain't Silver with a 3 pointed star on the front, it ain't winning no championship.

I hope Williams are sandbagging because they're in deep st if they're not! Come to think of it, i remember thinking similar things on Friday's last season. Then it would get to Saturday and they wouldn't improve. The only teams i'd suspect of low-fuel showboating at this stage are Renault and Toro Rosso, i think they're both further off the pace than they appear to be.

Williams have always run a different test regieme to everyone else these past few years, wouldn't read much into it.

I expect Manor and Williams to eventually be at similar levels as they are running the same package.

The next test will possibly give us a better idea of the pecking order.

Some teams will probably not give away their real pace until the very last second of testing or wait until Melbourne.

Mi don't recall williams doing a 3 lap ultra soft or super soft run. I'm not worried about their pace.

The money I guess.....only reason I can think of.

I fully expect McHonda to be still trundling around at the back of the field come the end of this season.
