Don't know who Steve Jones is, but there is something a bit cartoonish about him, perhaps Johnny Dangerous?

Thought that the Ch4 coverage wasn't too bad.
Link man can only get better, already better than Perry.

Excellent interview with Lewis.

Pity about what seemed a lot of ads though.

DC and MW were great.

I think the results where all fairly predictable to be honest and as the bike is based on something you could buy from the shop a better comparison would have been against a BTC, anyway it was nice to hear how F1 cars should sound like.
The programme appeared to be a cleverly disguised "this why an F1 car goes fast lesson" for attracting the new breed of F1 fan they are after.

Hate to say it but I agree so far. Seems genuinely interested whereas Suzi would rather hear about desmodromic valves on a Ducati. I'm still waiting to cringe when it comes to live coverage though.

Not sure if this is a good place to ask. . . . tried to watch the CH4 programme with Guy Martin tonight using a VPN . Got the message "this service is currently not available in your area" checked my IP address , yep, I was in Rugby, but, it didn't want to play ball. I could, on the other hand, watch CH4 on Demand & see previous programmes , so, it appeared to be happy with my "area" in this instance, and I could also watch BBC live via BBC i-player.

Have sent a message to both CH4 & my VPN provider, but, in the meantime, anyone any clue ? before I miss the ( anyhow recorded ) F1 highlights this weekend & have to watch them even later on using Catch-Up
I had the same issue. pain in the a*^e.

Anyone know when this is going to be available to watch on all 4? I can't watch it live, so depend on the catch up service.

Can't find it anywhere at the moment.

I liked the highlight show, but I'll want to see a live show to fully judge them. The anchor seemed a little bit nervous at the start, but for his first race, it was much better than others. He can only improve and seems to have good knowledge of the sport to steer the discussions. They pulled off some fantastic interviews though, both the Alonso and Hamilton ones were very good.

I've managed to find it on the internet, but not through any All4 app at the moment.

Guess what? The idiots have put the headlines from quali right next to the video! banghead

Not liking this Channel 4 nonsense at the moment. Yes, it's only the first part of the first gp weekend, but it's already silly.

Everything feels pretty much like were we left off with the BBC, but I don't like Jones his half jokey half sarky "bantz" style of asking questions wears thin on me.

Advert breaks I really don't like them breaks the program up too much I seriously hope they don't do that in a race.

The new qualifying rules? Well for me they have succeeded in dumbing down that to the level of the racing so well done all.

But of course I'll keep watching.

It's on All4. Can't believe the headlines next to the vid though on the website.

It was interesting to contrast with Sky (I watched both today).

CH4 - Great analysis from Webber. Great Alonso interview where Lee got far more info out of him than perhaps anyone else could have. Too many adverts which were the only real downside for me.

Sky - Juvenile and nothing worthwhile other than Brundle. Ted Kravitz is still going on about his stupid theory that Alonso will leave McLaren this year, despite Alonso saying many times he is happy with the car and categorically staying with the team. This just makes TK look stupid.

The Sky coverage is so bad I find it unwatchable at times. They also never seem to get a serious interview as CH4 did because a driver will not open up to them while they come up with stupidity like the above.

Just finished watching Ch4's first F1 qualifying and I'am very happy, the presenters did a good job DC & Mark Webber as expected were a cut above Steve Jones will find his feet during the season, as for the ad's I recorded the program and jumped the breaks so a non issue for me.

I was very concerned when the BBC ditched the F1 coverage but thankfully Ch4 have stepped up to the mark so good on them and I hope they get the viewing figures they deserve to make F1 a permanent fixture on Ch4.

Watched Sky this morning and the highlights on C4, much preferred C4 (apart from the adverts!). It made for a much less whiny, more enjoyable watch and their interviews were really personal sounding.

Agree entirely. DC and Webber work well together. Steve Jones was decent and will only improve with time. He seems to have some genuine enthusiasm for the sport too.

And we have the Professor's wisdom to come too. Hopefully when HAM and ROS have a massive falling out Mr Prost will give us some insight.

But Webber was fantastic, and Coulthard got his points across better too without the comedy leprechaun contradicting his every word. Intelligent analysis, something Sky sorely lacks.

I enjoyed the C4 team's efforts. They did a pretty good job wth the basics, got the interviews right with the right people given the time restrictions of a highlights show, and overall I would say it is an improvement on the BBC qually highlights shows.

Like others, I will be interested to see race coverage and a live show, but find this encouraging.

Just been watching it having recorded it, and greatly enjoyed it.

I must have watched a different programme! I thought the Welshman genuinely wanted to be there in a kind of -" i'd rather be presenting 6 nations rugby on the beeb, but this is a big gig and I am professional", whereas Simon Lazenby seems like he'd "rather be presenting football and is irritated at how his life has ended up." I thought C4's coverage is actually good enough to seriously consider binning sky. I only have it for the F1 HD and whilst I might miss motors Tv occasionally, at £50+ a month I could make a useful saving and just buy freeview. It also helps that F1 is currently tediously st, I couldn't be bothered to watch it this morning, but as it looks like it was eventful I'll speed through the lowlights later. scratchchin
