Which is what will be happening next year when they get their way with harder/longer lasting tyres.

Worth persevering for this one, more overtaking in this race than in entire seasons back in the Schumacher years ...
I have. Attempting to avoid any news until I get chance to watch it later. smile

They did tweet earlier that there was an issue with the app that they were attempting to fix. May still be broken?
It seems available to watch this morning. However, I won't be able to watch it until later due to work.

Actually trying to download it now so maybe can catch a bit on my lunch break.

At least they won't be stroking the cars around all afternoon preserving the tyres. It was a good idea (to use tyre life to effect race strategy/car performance) but it's gone too far. Not saying I have the answers to make it work, but I'd prefer the drivers being able to push themselves and the cars far harder on a tyre up to the task.

Well Steve Jones did a very good job of it today, much improved from Australia (not that he was that bad to begin with).
I still don't like him. I'm not sure if he's trying too hard or just naturally annoying. It might partly be because his accent means he drops the "g" off words than end with "ing". It shouldn't annoy me, and clearly I have issues, but it grates so much.

I struggle with him too, he seems a nice guy but I just don't like his presenting style; can't put my finger on what it is though.

He is not great but compared to the pure tabloid agenda of Sky, creating 'stories' where there are none coupled to their 'corblimey guv' blokey banter aimed at a football audience I'll take C4 every time.

Suddenly everyone looks old and out of touch on Sky.

Well I think we are unanimous in agreeing that he's a leap forward from Suzi Perry?

I wish the BBC had taken Karun Chandhok on when he stopped racing, he is one of the better pit-lane reporters I've watched/listened to.

The team is getting better and better as the races go on, just a shame it might only last a couple of years until Sky takes all the live races.

Absolutely this. I used to like Brundle but all of a sudden he's been made to look like a morose, whinging, things were better in my day, white, flabby 50 something.

Does he post on PH btw? whistle

He has posted on PH in the past I believe.

I do miss Brundle doing his grid walks on in the comms box but it has been a few years since his days at the BBC.

Brundle is still the best that Sky has for the very simple reason that he lets interviewees speak and gives thoughtful analysis of their comments.

Herbert/Croft/Kravitz are shocking in their lack of knowledge and reliance upon banal catchphrases that offer nothing to the viewer at all.

I am impressed that they manage to fool so many into thinking they do know what they are talking about. They are the Donald Trumps of F1.. tongue out

Not unanimous. I don't mind Steve Jones but never objected to Suzi,

Better than looking at a brick wall I suppose.

I don't see the problem with Steve Jones though. He might be Welsh but he does not annoy me unlike that Welsh BBC newsreader called Hugh something or other.

It was a bit strange to see Steve Jones on another C4 program last week, where a couple of strangers were going to have sex, live on TV.

I think he's less try-hard than he was to begin with and so comes across as a fairly light hearted normal human being who is taking a new job seriously, I think he's fine- you need someone to ask all the obvious questions and he can do it without sounding judgemental.

I liked Suzi. I though her and DC were a good combo.

That's my thought, she took a few races to get into F1 and to get to know people but a really good chemistry developed between her and DC.

I guess an element that the show has to get across is some of the points that are really obvious to people who are committed F1 fans and have watched for a long time - the skill of the anchor person is to ensure that information is conveyed which may involve them asking questions they already know the answer to, but some viewers may not.

I always thought she was ok. She was decent in Moto GP before and will be the second time round. Although with Moto GP the racing does the talking

Nope Steve Jones is basically the same as Suzi except that instead of trying to flirt with all the guests he tries to be overly blokey-matey-all-men-together.

Same basic lack of knowledge.
Same over-use of hyperbole.
