Was that the part where Croft read out the 'controversial' tweets from moronic viewers?
Indeed, and his puffed out chest and idiotic grin quickly changed in a few seconds when Toto responded. What a complete wally for asking the question and attempting to hide his agenda behind tweets from the tabloid reading masses. If I were Toto I would simply have handed the microphone back and walked off. If interviewers cannot show basic common sense in their questions I don't see why he should have to answer when there is a team of 1000 people in Brackley who work their nuts off to make their cars the best only to have it questioned if they would sabotage their own driver.

To be honest it's pretty much the case with Sky's whole coverage. There is always some controversial 'agenda' which is pathetic and insults the intelligence of even slightly knowledgable viewers. They seem to forget that the standard they apply to the Football audience does not translate across to Motor Racing fans.

I've never been a fan of Crofty, but my jaw just hit the floor watching that. If I were Toto, I'd have turned to Martin Brundle, who was quietly smirking to himself at the absurdity of the line of questioning, and asked if he wants to talk about motor racing. Push the personality-free Lazenby out of shot and pull out the earpiece connecting him to the mong Croft. Then, we might actually learn something.Sky don't seem to understand that the majority of people who are paying to watch F1 on their channel are going to be hardcore F1 fans and therefore not the least bit interested in spurious, lunatic tweets read out by a frankly cretinous "journalist".

First of all, let me tell you that I'm not going to respond to every lunatic who sends a twitter message.
Sums it up perfectly. I don't know what's worse: these thoughts actually running through the mind of a human being to the point where they want to direct messages about it to the main broadcasting company, or the fact that said broadcasting company will actually present them to the team boss on air. It's just embarrassing.
Whilst the subject matter was infantile, it gave Toto the opportunity to respond (very well IMHO) directly, professionally, live and using more that 140 characters. I would rather hear a team boss talk on a subject like that than a pundit or armchair internet expert, and the programme gave him that opportunity.
I am always happy to hear a team member talk about situations, even the most contrived and banal as in this case. He did Mercedes a power of good in his approach, dissing the mugs and then explaining how Mercedes go to work. The interviews are more interesting than most of the racing these days.

Amusing comment by Jones during the build up to today's race. He and DC were being chauffeured around Barcelona by Wolff in a beautiful open-topped W111 Mercedes and at virtually every landmark Jones was able to come up with a touristy fact about the location.
Susie shifted in her seat to tell him never mind his F1 career, he should do a travel show. Jones replied, with a chuckle, that there are many who would agree with her.

The one thing I miss with the current C4 coverage is the 45 to 60 minutes odd of "Red Button" that followed after the main coverage when it was on the BBC. It just allowed for more discussion, further interviews, etc.
Today in particular showed how much that extra coverage was missed as C4 were desperate to wrap everything up in circa 30 minutes (well 20 odd once you accounted for the ad breaks) to ensure they ran Pocahontas on time. It's a shame as today was an excellent race with so much to talk about regarding Max, Red Bull, etc, but there was no time to speak to Max after the race, no race interviews with other drivers including Ferrari, etc. Maybe some of that may make it to the Highlights package later tonight.
Hopefully come the British GP C4 will extend the show broadcast time to fit more in.

I think Steve Jones is settling in well.
I saw a bit of Sunday Brunch beforehand - they had a live link to Messrs Jones and Coulthard which led to an excellently dry response from Coulthard when Tim Lovejoy asked "What sort of race will see today?" "A Formula One race, Tim".
I will admit that he doesn't seem to be doing too bad a job now. I was a bit sceptical in the beginning, but he isn't all that bad really.I saw a bit of Sunday Brunch beforehand - they had a live link to Messrs Jones and Coulthard which led to an excellently dry response from Coulthard when Tim Lovejoy asked "What sort of race will see today?" Did anyone else notice DC's hand on his bum when they met Susie for the drive at the beginning of the show?
Oh yes, the race was available on the app from about 8pm last night. I had started looking elsewhere for it and it just appeared.
