Hi, I need a new helmet for this season to fit a HANS, and as well as the usual suspects (Bell, Arai etc) I've been looking at a Koden carbon fibre helmet. Obviously it's meant to be much lighter then a normal one, but I don't know too much about the company,
Has anyone got one / used one or have any opinion about them?
Cheers

Ps here's the one - http://www.koden.co.uk/motorsport-helmets.html

Why no prices on their site ?

I was considering one of these, they seem like good value.

TBH I just want something cheap and HANS ready as I too have been forced to waste money due to stupid MSA rules

They don't sell direct, but koden retailers are selling them for about £380 inc VAT but not the hans posts.

I think they only sell them via third parties, like here - http://www.racewear.co.uk/koden-ksf15-sah2010-race...

Think I'm going to go for one just to see what they're like

I got an new RRS helmet complete with HANS posts for £150 so i'd have a look at them if you don't want to spend a fortune complying with the new MSA rules.

It's a good helmet and is FIA/Snell approved.

I bought a Koden Carbon Helmet from www.moderacewear.com with the HANS posts thrown in for free for £370
Finding it really comfortable and much lighter than my old OMP helmet. Would certainly recommend trying one for size.

Whilst not my taste, I've heard those Koden's are great value for the price, I'll happily recommend Racewear.co.uk I've dealt with them before.

Interesting thread, I hadn't heard of Koden until the other day when I noticed them on Hawke Motorsport

Thanks for the replies. DG are you happy with yours?
I tried on a non carbon one the other day, and it fitted well, although the cheek pads were a little tight, but I guess they'll get softer with use. I'm going to get one I think

Yes, fits better than my previous Sparco and much lighter. Hawke Motorsport were excellent too.

Koden wearer here also, fantastic helmet, you really notice the difference after a long day at the track or a long race, no more neck ache.

Also a recommendation from me for Hawke, a few of my buddies have bought and service has been excellent.
