It'll be interesting to see Lewis' mentality this weekend. He needs a win for two reasons, to close the gap to Nico and to try and break Nico's run of victories. I wonder if the pressure will make him push harder in Quali and lead to a few errors or if he's still calm.

I thought Nico's interview at the end of the last race was very telling. They told him something along the lines of "every driver that has won the first three races of the season has gone on to be WDC". He simply replied "those people didn't have Lewis Hamilton as a team mate".
Telling in what way?

I heard that line and thought that it was both very respectful and apt. If you look at many of those drivers to win the first 3 races then their team mate was regarded as the much less able driver.
As deadslow said above, refreshingly honest. To me it also implied that maybe the feud has died down a little bit. Either that that or they've been told not to air their dispute in public, but I tend towards the former assertion.

This is 4/21.
If Lewis does not outscore Rosberg here surely he will begin to think that it is not to be?
Until Rosberg goes 11/21 then it's still game on (unless my maths has let me down)

Not if Lewis can only claw points back at 7 per race.

Whatever the odds and stats, I really want to see a race where both Mercs get a straightforward run at the weekend, Lewis has had some awful luck but Rosberg has maximised the damage by winning all the races so far. Would be interesting to see them in a straight fight.

Have to say, as someone who wasn't fond of the Hamilton of old, the guy who threw his toys out of the pram when things didn't go his way, I've been very impressed with him lately. His response to adversity is much more measured and the whole thing seems to get to him a lot less, whether that's a cloak or just the maturity that comes with 3 championships remains to be seen. But so far this year, I am liking Lewis a lot more.

I think part of the reason Lewis is like that at the moment is because we've only had a few races and its a long season. Let's see how he reacts if Rosberg keeps winning.

I presume that the track temperature will be somewhat lower at this time of year, so, as others have said, not having the super-duper-softs seems a bit daft.

Thats probably why we don't have the super softs this weekend.

If Rosberg gets 10/21 - and the remaining 11 races is a Lewis 1/Rosberg 2 = Lewis would still be 8 points behind.

Is it possible for Rosberg to gain the longest winning streak in F1 history... and still lose the WDC?

Longest winning streak is nine. So, three more races or four for the outright record. That would put him at least 57 or 64 points ahead.

Sarcasm. A statement about the state of F1 these days I would imagine.

Will be interested to see how it works in practice, nicer looking solution than the halo, in renderings at least.

It does look the better solution (not knowing any of the technical aspects) and with this in mind it is likely that F1 in its current state will therefore ignore it.

Yep, coat it in whatever advanced Rain-x F1 experts will come up with (driving car technology that could be used on the roads) to prevent oil/rain/debris and I think it's the way to go if they go down that route.

It's just a bigger version of the screens they used to have in F1 during the 50s, 60s, 70s and even into the 1980s.

I suppose the question will be how well it deals with glare when driving into the sun once it's thoroughly bug/oil/whatever splattered at the end of a race.

I think there's more than enough experience in prototypes for that not to be an issue

Will be very interesting to see this in action- especially as unlike Ferrari's halo this has a very definite aerodynamic impact on the car (down force?) and engine (intake?)

Having said that, unless they have Massa in the back of a pickup hurling springs at the drivers face we won't truly know the benefit...
