I've said this before many times, but the problem with the Grid Walk is that it was very fresh and different when Brundle invented it. There was some genuine insight and you felt like he was getting special access. But now, everyone does it, in every formula, and the drivers are sick of it now because instead of it just being Brundle, it's every TV station from every country. And frankly I'm sick of it too. I'd be happy if they simply banned all journalists and TV crew from the grid on safety grounds.

Absolutely. A few years ago I was annoyed when told that Lewis doesn't do interviews on the grid, but now I can see why. Banal questions are the order of the day, there is no fascinating insights or fun in the grid walks anymore. In fact, I used to enjoy the whole race build-up, hearing the political stories going on behind the scenes, who had signed for who, which team was financially precarious etc, now I (mostly) tune in when the lights go out.
