I always find the anger in these forums surprising.

F1 is, and always will be, ruthless. Look at the changes at Ferrari. Look how many drivers have behaved... It's whatever is needed to win.
This. Remember when Ferrari dropped Alain Prost unceremoniously at the end of 1991. If it can happen to one of the greats then no driver is really safe.

A lot of people also suggested Schumacher was effectively forced out at the end of 2006 when it was his preference to do another year.

Some good grist to the Sniffpetrol mill recently, I especially like the recent 'Vettel children's book' one...

Read my post again, I'm not complaining about the ruthlessness per se, I'd just rather they didn't try to insult our intelligence sugar-coating it.

oh no hold on, yes saintz will be in a happier environment now they've promoted his team mate, and kvyat will excel in said less demanding environment. hmm yes. scratchchin

Just watched the drivers press conference.
Made the Room of Awkwardness look like fun.
Kvyat sitting next to Verstappen.

Verstappen showing zero concern for the Kvyat.
Kvyat putting brace face on - but will not be taking any prisoners the rest of the season by the look of it.

Interesting times.

Nice bit of Comedy re. Watching Game of Thrones when he got the chop - but he did sound a bit wobbly and looked a bit cut up...

... Hope he uses that as a driving force this weekend

Driver's press conference.

Awkward.

And boring - how many times can different journalists ask pretty much the same question in a different way?

Dani: "Yeah whatever" click

Kyvat looked alternatingly like he wanted to cry or murder someone. If max doesn't find him in tears soon he should start checking his car for foreign devices.

A joke I know, but its not Max's fault any driver in a lesser car would climb over anyone to get into that Red Bull, its not like he could turn it down. I think if anyone needs to sleep with one eye open its Marko.

He'll just have to make sure it's his good eye......

I'm really pleased for Max.

He's the best rookie to come into F1 for a very long time. There is no doubt he will be a champion in the future and Horner knows it.

He has to get him into a top seat before anyone else does!

That's roughly how I feel. Don't want to lose him, how do you keep him...

Not sure being a teammate of Ricciardo is a good career move anyway. Risk of being hammered.

Sounds like Max is the real deal! How he saved his tires and drove with no mistakes. All the hype, the pressure he did not cracked. It shows Red Bull made the right choice.

Congratulations Max

And don't forget he is driving the RB12 for only a week! first drive in a new car and win a race like how he did you are the real deal. No question about it.

I think he has the potential to be much better than ricciardo, as much as I like him.

Where he really impresses, and where I think he will have an advantage over Ricciardo, is in his ability to manage tyres and his cool head.

How many times have we seen Ric make desperate lunges. Max did early on, but now he seems very adept at biding his time and thinking about his moves before making them.

It was very evident early on how good he was so I was not massively surprised by yesterday's result as it was inevitable with the trajectory he was on.

So, how long is he going to last at Toro Rosso? He does seem intent on writing his own P45's.

Agreed. He's throwing his F1 career away right now.
