Is anybody arguing that it wasn't a racing incident?

I thought the past several pages were arguing over what shade of grey this racing incident was?
So when is running someone off the track who already has track position, as defined by the regulations, not a racing incident???
I dunno... when the intent to run the competitor off the track is beyond reasonable doubt and there are no extraneous contributing factors?

Hmmm, I don't think intent is mentioned in the regulations? But anyway Rosberg admitted he moved over deliberately. Extraneous factors could only be applied if they were outside his control eg a puncture. Not in this case though.

12 pages later and people still haven't actually realised what happened!

Look the LH's steering wheel angle on page 1, he was going on the grass whether NR was there or not. End of.

Eh? If Rosberg wasn't there you think he'd have driven onto the grass anyway?

Agreed, and Nico's lying.
IT WAS A RACING INCIDENT

However, I thought it interesting that at the Barcelona test, Veihren was brought in at very short notice for a back to back evaluation with Nico. Significant only because Nico is out of contract at the end of the year. We do not know if Mercedes have fined Nico like they did after the Spa incident, but I do think that he has been shown a yellow card, if only for being in the wrong engine mode at the start.

Many people believe it was a racing incident. I don't: I think that Nico caused an avoidable accident.

But I respect that other people view it differently.

Let me start by saying I rate Lewis highly as driver, one of the best I've ever seen for raw talent and ability, deserves his 3 x WDC titles. I think Nico is quick, a good driver, unlucky to be team mats with Lewis and to have missed out on a title.

So no axe to grind with either of the Merc drivers.

Watching the race as an armchair F1 lover and seeing the incident unfold on TV, at first I thought "WTF are you doing Lewis", then watching the replays and analysis I concluded it was just a racing incident. Two talented drivers going for it, balls out, heat of the moment.

Can't wait for Monaco.

My humble view-
Lewis saw a large gap and a car harvesting and went for it as a racer.
Nico realised his error and slammed the door aggressively, also as a racer.
I voted that it was Nico's fault but only because there were only 3 options, I believe he was marginally more responsible for what happened but that's with very little info other than what the press give us.

You can't wait to watch one car take the lead at turn 1 and go onto win whilst the rest follow in a train? Each to their own laugh

hahahahaha.....

But just in case I'm missing something, wouldn't he have have been 20 meters to left on a normal line if Nico wasn't there?

Not necessarily. If Nico had been behind Lewis then no doubt Lewis would have been over on the right, just like Nico actually was.

The comment was that Lewis was going onto the grass if Nico was there or not. Did you read it?

I think the inference was that Nico's presence had no bearing upon what Lewis did and how the situation played out.

I've no idea what you're responding to or trying to say?
