I have to correct myself here...the above sector times were the best registered for each driver throughout qualifying, not necessarily from the last Q3 run, as the sector times don't add up to the Q3 time for Hamilton (but do for Ric and Ros). It is therefore quite probable that the multiple laps Hamilton did before his Q3 run might have hampered him. However, his best ever final sector is not far away from Rosberg with a clear run, so I'd be inclined to say that's the best the car could do in that sector.
May be he could have pulled it out of the bag, who knows? If he had got pole though after all the Q3 stuff, it would have gone down as one of his greatest performances.
Thanks I was looking at that on my phone last night while browsing ph waiting on something and the figures just didn't look "right". Hamilton might have gone quicker with a second run - I'm sure he keeps a few tenths in his pocket here and there so rosberg can't easily copy+paste - but it's academic now.May be he could have pulled it out of the bag, who knows? Just seen the Kravitz'You don't mind me calling you woz do you'
interview.
Watched to the end of the show to see if the writing credits contained Ricky Gervais' name.
Looks nice and damp today

fking hell. Johnny Herbert is a joke......... I'm no Hamilton fanboy but Lewis would be perfectly within his rights to give Herbert a slap here.
I'd have thrown him over the side of the bus if he'd have said that to me. </keyboard hardman mode>
Glad I'm watching this 'at a friends house' and not paying for it.

BUT he either is very good at playing the fool or is a buffoon that people don't mind chatting to - and even yesterday he said something like "I just go around the pit lane embarrassing myself".....I find it funny the way he just wanders wherever he can before someone stops him....

Absolute cretin of the highest order. Don't believe that "plays the fool" bullst, he's a complete tool and on occasions incredibly rude as well. Tit.
I'm sure you could do way better. Edit: Plus, calling him a "cretin of the highest order" doesn't leave words to describe the tit larking around on camera behind the presenters. Brundle's face said it all.

Hamilton was fuelled for two runs, so had to run four laps to burn off the excess fuel, but by that point the tyres were not at their best. I think he would have pushed Ricciardo hard on an optimum quali strategy. It is tabloid TV made for the lowest common denominator.
Herbert really does come across as incapable of having a logical exchange with a driver, all he does is rely upon Essex cliches and verbal shoulder shrugging. A very strange choice to conduct interviews.
People of any intelligence find it very hard to watch.
