I'll trawl through the whole thread later but having watching in Spanish can someone explain to me what happened on Hamilton's out lap? He stopped in front of Ricciardo. It was one lap earlier than Ricciardo. Ricciardo spent 10s idle in the pits. And yet Ricciardo emerged only about 2s behind. As that gap didn't then stretch immediately to 10s I conclude Hamilton's out lap was 8s slower than Danny's. I know Danny had an advantage of watching where Lewis broke, but still ...

Thanks in advance,
Jez

Rosberg just lost 6th to Hulkenberg. Idiot.
Yeah. What an idiot. Perhaps you could offer him some coaching.
Wolff has just stated on RTL that Rosberg's car had power trouble during the whole race. So the engineers could do with some coaching too...
Did he have it in the wrong setting?! wink

Rosberg must be feeling sick. He's won the first 4 races of the season and everybody talking about how it was his to lose and now Lewis has closed it up.
I think he'll probably be more angry about losing 6th position! I'll have to wait till the interviews, but I thought from his moving out of the way for Hamilton who shot off into the distance he was in damage limitation mode.

Maybe because DR looks disappointed, rather than sulky. Big difference.
Feel sorry for Ricciardo but only a big difference if you don't have an axe to grind..
I hugely admire Ricc's honesty and pours his heart open rather than remember to be 'on message' or giving careful answers.

Unfortunately its much more open to interpretation and Ricc is going to have to clarify his "screwed" comment.

At the time I think he was much faster (on intermediates) than Hamilton. And when Hamilton came out on slicks, they'd be cold and the track was still damp, so he probably wasn't caning it & just lost a lot of time over those two laps. Before Hamilton came in (when Ricciardo had caught him up) I couldn't see a way for him to Hamilton to stay in front unless the track was bone dry.

Thanks. Basically Ricc went 8s quicker in one lap without being bottled up behind Ham. Maybe it was 2 laps. But I thought one. One to trawl the lap times for later because if that's right it's remarkable.

Fair to say that Max cost Danny the win then today as the only reason the tyres took so long must be that people were watching the Max incident exiting the swimming pool. As someone said earlier, Max reminds them of Bellof. He reminds me of a number of 70s/early-80s drivers who are no longer with us who had fantastic speed on their day. We live in different (better) times.

Haha I was thinking WTF are you doing Lewis but the best part was Sergio looking over at Hamilton and then immediately diverting his attention skywards in the belief that Hamilton must be looking at something interesting

Tough race between ham/ric there, they both deserved it, ric obvs had speed so well done by hamilton to hold him off.

ric seemed mega pissed but hams had race wins and titles robbed from him by mclarens blundering incompetence so thats the way the cookie crumbles, nice to see him luck from someone elses ballsup for a change (but shame it had to be ric.)

Nice of him to give mad props to ric on the podium - told my wife he would - class act.

Given he's just claimed that his tyres let him down in the Hulkenberg incident perhaps he could use some help with tyre management.

& looked like he'd rather go off and have a sulk rather than answer any questions.

Note to Damon.

I also thought that it was a bit of a redemption of Merc after last years screwup if they were behind keeping Ham out on Wets and the move to slicks, as well as getting Rosberg out of the way for intermediates.

And Hulkenberg just stated that he got lucky with the grip out of the last corner due to the fresh rain. Classy response. He'd be lost on PH.

So Robert was down on power yet the best overtake in F1 couldn't overtake him and had to be let past yet others managed to do it...

Ricciardo has every right to feel well and truly robbed today.

Hugely impressed Nico let Lewis through. I can't like him a lot, but every now and then I think he is a good chap. Even in the interview afterwards despite losing another place to Hulk (though somehow Lewis' tyres managed)..

Well done Lewis for doing 40 odd laps on ultra softs and at least that makes up for last year.

Ric, poor sausage. What a way to lose, but I think Lewis knows how he feels. He drove damn well though.

Sergio - often there to pick up the pieces.

Palmer - is he good enough? I think not.

Max - I actually thought he's either gonna be on the podium or in the wall..... Sadly it was the latter. He was at least giving it the beans for the overtakes.

Saubers - uh, what?
