The weather link in the OP still says 50% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon? I'm not sure if the site I follow is very reliable though.

I used http://www.metcheck.com/HOBBIES/formula1.asp for the 0% forecast, whereas using Meteoblue https://www.meteoblue.com/en/weather/forecast/week... I get 32% chance of rain in the 35km "square" centred on Monaco, but not actually over Monaco itself and it gives 0mm as the amount.

It looks pretty unlikely :-(

This does somewhat have me wondering how good a street race around Edinburgh would be. Probably no more passing space than Monaco, but just as three dimensional a terrain and an almost guaranteed chance of rain!hehe

I too considered KR as he is usually twice the odds of SV in the same car and Monaco is always a bit of a lottery but I didn't get the gut feeling about him - we shall see come Sunday.
I don't get a gut feeling either but he has been on the podium 3/5 races this year? The idea of him finishing 2nd or better doesn't seem too unlikely.
I don't really understand how they price up the odds. For example at the moment for the WDC outright Vettel is 28-1, Ricciardo and Verstappen 33-1.... yet Raikkonen is 80-1..... I don't think any of them will win it, but there is no way those guys are more than twice as likely to win than Raikkonen surely? And Hamilton is only 6-4 which doesn't seem like good value at all.

I'm not really a gambler by nature, I just enjoy making small bets on the long odds results....more fun that way when it pays off.
Exactly the same as me - the Spanish Grand Prix was very intense for the last 25+ laps knowing that I have a couple of hundred quid coming if MV held off KR.

I also had Raikkonen E/W @ 18-1 - seem to be able to get a much better price on him compared to Vettel, despite them being quite evenly matched so far this year.

Market forces. They are just trying to influence you into giving them some money.
Having worked for the same on line gambling company as Ray Winston - they had a large team of analysts setting the odds - those Market Forces were VERY COMPLEX.

Ah, it does appear that way. I checked a few other sites and it looks like the weather is coming in a bit later...may be there is still a chance that we might have some rain in the closing stages of the race?

Anyone know what the super tt is supposed to have done in a nightclub that's (not really) cost him his drive this weekend?

I like the bloke, but he does find himself in some odd situations.

I realise its mostly all press bks, but what could he possibly have done on a red carpet event that could preclude him from the race and it not be seen by so many journalists that it would be plastered across most news sites.

I know he doesn't do himself any favours with the selfies in nightclubs (more from a merc corporate view, as they may not like it) but he isn't doing anything not done by rich sportsmen since the 60's, just a lot more visible, rather than 'behind the velvet rope. IYSWIM

It could very well be made up, but just bear in mind the last time he was implicated... erm... I mean mentioned in the same breath as... a 'nightclub incident' it was because his best pal had glassed a bloke.

Coupled with (LOL) all the media blackouts surrounding F1 drivers and their out of hours hobbies, doesn't half get the imagination going!

But, just for the avoidance of doubt, I don't really care. Just bored. Apologies, this contribution adds nowt to the Formula 1 subject.

Rosberg acting very evasive and defensive in the Press Conference in my opinion... contrast with the 18 year old sat next to him who looks chilled as f**k! biggrin

They were later on but in response to his initial comment about refusing to disclose whether he has discussed it with Hamilton or not, a perfectly reasonable question which he strangely declined to answer.

Ironically an hour later Hamilton answered the same question and there was nothing controversial about it apparently.

Rosberg really does himself no favours sometimes. Compare with Vettel who always gives a very straight (and usually funny) answer to defuse any controversy.

Surely a simple ''Yes we discussed it and decided to move on'' would have saved a lot of clenched teeth..??
