stick grabbed and held onto i'd say, bet his fingers smell now
If someone says "In the past pigs flew but they do not any more"

Would you ask: So do you think pigs fly at the moment then?

No. Because you'd have to be a moron to think that's what was said. But that's the issue with F1 threads. People read something but they are not usually smart enough to understand it.

The last sentence in my post is quite clearly a no to his question. But if he can't read that, how's he going to read any other response?

Looks like I did get the wrong end of the stick.

But it was an irrelevant point, badly made as far as us Primates are concerned.

Are you done? Or are you going to continue to have a pop at everyone who questions anything you say?

I think you might be guilty of the "over reaction" issue which you're complaining about. To continue your pigs example, you actually said that were not 100% sure if pigs fly anymore. That could suggest that you think they do but are not totally sure. So I don't think it was an unreasonable question - but you've taken it very badly.

And it probably wouldn't be a ridiculous claim if you did suspect it. Lewis has been hard on his car in the past although it seems that most of this years issues really are poor manufacturing / specification or preparation of the car.

It was a serious request for clarification.
Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick?
Given the answer was clearly: No. There was no stick to get the wrong end of, unless you'd choose to, or you have the IQ of a gibbon.
Interesting enough there was no reply to the question. It's pretty clear different styles have different benefits, and you can't say one without the other. He didn't say it was the case for Hamilton, or the case for him this year. However it is true.

Take Max Verstappen and Hamilton. Fantastic racers who push the limit on overtakes. They will have more crashes as a result (generally this should decrease over their carrier as they learn more race craft and, perhaps, they get a name for it so others take less risk around them in a corner). Thus the stats will show them as more DNFs, which could be ruled out if selectively taking the stats of finished races to remove bad luck. Yet it is due to their style, and so could be (it has been commented on by some before) as being their fault and a bad thing. However it does have the benefit of gaining places and points in other races, and so is also a benefit. Someone like Rosberg is pretty different - more consistent in finishing, but is pretty poor at gaining points in close overtaking battles.

An alternative sport could be Nadal versus Federer. Both great tennis players, but very different styles. Nadal's style has seen his body fail a lot quicker than Federer. So Nadal has not won as many Grand Slams, so could be called the worse player (probably a lot due to being injured more from the strain he puts on his body playing). But then again their head to head record shows Nadal with a 23-11 winning record, so it could be said he was the better player. Just depends on what style you like/ what you focus on.

It's not bad to say a sports person's strength is also a weakness if the car has more issues from their driving style/ damage from crashes for example.

Except Mr Angry (if I DARE to try and interpret what he was saying again) was talking about inducing mechanical failures, no knocking bits off.

Well, consider what you need to do when overtaking someone lots. You need higher revs for better acceleration (engine repeats same movements more, so more wear), more gear shifts as you try and get the perfect spot for acceleation (more wear on gearbox), to brake later (thus more heat in the brakes relative to time for it to dissipate), and so on.

You would expect someone who has a style like Lewis and Max to generally cause a bit more wear than someone who is always trying to catch the next person on track or get a pass done, rather than just sitting back and accepting they won't pass. Not saying that is the reason for the failures this season, but it's certainly likely over time when you think about what the different approaches do to the car.

I've just come back from a week away.
Tuesday night tunnel, staying at the F1 hotel in Calais
Wednesday drive to Sospel, via Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland and Italy (to avoid possible fuel shortages)
Thursday from the campsite in Sospel I get supplies and drive the Col de Turini - oh my god...just glorious.
Friday - train from Menton to Monaco 2euros?! 15 mins. Access all areas, GP2 etc etc
Saturday drive along the coast and spend the day in St Tropez and nearby beaches
Sunday, park at Menton station (6am) train to Monaco again, find my 'space' on 'Rocher', bed in for the day. After the race (brilliant!) drove to Milan and stayed over
Monday Milan to Lucern via Swiss passes....nuff said...
Tuesday Lucern to Calais via the Black Forest - amazing

All in food, tolls, accommodation, fuel and the F1 ticket - £800

fly or drive, do it.
I may have seen you!

Shaved head with sunglasses on top, S2000 with plate with 766 or 677, first toll on the French side of the A8 heading into France at about 17:30 on Friday?

Is that you Nico?
All I did was ask for clarification. If that's 'giving it' then so be it.

Sorry, but you did. Very clearly. His last sentence made his position absolutely clear, without any ambiguity.
