Don't forget the broadcasters only get radio footage the FOM/Bernie chooses to release........ so it is pretty easy for someone to decide to push an agenda that X driver gets 'coached' while 'hero' driver Y doesn't need any help at all.

I am probably the only one that's sad to see the ban lifted, had they placed the rule: that if you have to tell the driver something that saves the car or solves a safety/reliability, issue then you have to take a tour of the pit lane.

I think it would have been more widely accepted but in typical FIA fashion they fudged it.

Now let's hope for 2017 that they say if all four wheels are outside of the white line on any part of the track you'll get a penalty.

If it's qualifying then it's time deleted.

In the race three strikes & you tour the pit lane.

Then that'll be another FIA fudge sorted.

Exactly, but let me stir a little bit more. It takes great skill to copy someone else. You tell me exactly what notes and how a Steve Vai plays his tunes. I'm still never going to play like him, and it's never going to sound like him, will it? However, if I had the 'blueprint' if you like, of Vai's notes/sound and I manage to sound better than him, then am I a better player? Arguably. There you go.

Dunno why they dont just stick a low friction surface of some kind on the outside of the kerb, only needs to be 1M wide, enough to unsettle the car and lose a smidge of time recovering and no more. Doesnt even need to be permanent if other race series dont like it - some kind of strips with a slippery surface you can just bolt down for the race

D@mn a bit of wet carpet would suffice, Ive got some offcuts and Ill do it for pony bernie if youre listening, plus trackside pass of course.

Brundle once suggested a super-abrasive surface instead - so if you ran wide it didn't puncture the tyres, but drastically shortened their life.

I'm glad they have scrapped the ban, they obviously didn't think it through, I think the FIA have bottled it and having now thought it through have decided they would be in a very dodgy situation if someone got killed and it could have been avoided with radio.

Shame for the people who have been penalised in the meantime

Why all four? I don't think any part of the car should be allowed to leave the racetrack.

I agree with you but you couldn't ever get an agreement on that so I settled for all 4 wheels over the white line on every part of the track leaving no room for interpretation to be thrown into the mix.

It was good to hear radio communication yesterday.

Agree that you should not be putting your wheels outside of the track especially all 4, i agree that should be a penalty or a 3 strike rule it least.
