Max lost the end of his front wing in FP1 going wide and over the yellow kerbs, he isn't happy about the yellow kerbs, saying they are dangerous, Max gets told not to go over the yellow kerbs...

How far outside the track are they?!? hehe

They should get rid of the yellow curbs..

As mentioned on Sky F1, Dietrich Mateschitz is looking at reinstating the old layout.

Not sure the houses would allow the run off needed though, although it looks like the Hella-Licht chicane is still there at the to of the hill at the end of the start finish straight.

I wonder if Hamilton will pick up another reprimand for his spin across the gravel and back on track in front of the Haas, which then spun avoiding him?
Racing incident, surely?
Depends how punchy the stewards are feeling I guess (after all, the reversing in the pitlane after a marshall messed up could have been considered harsh itself). We don't know how much, if any, control he had during the spin but the stewards would have telemetry to see if he could have stopped.

Seems to have got away with it anyway!

Dan and Max looking cool. At least they're better than the hideous camouflage suits they've been wearing up to now.

Vettles spin

Are the highlights suggesting that the energy harvesting caused the spin by kicking in at the wrong time?

I'm unsure of what the pecking order might be as teams weren't able to run a full programme for the usual FP2 long runs...I think some teams were anticipating the rain and did some work in FP1.

Ferrari appear to have the quickest race car, if my eyes aren't deceiving me. Raikkonen's stint on the Ultra Soft tyre in FP1 was pretty quick and Vettel was in the 11s in FP2 on a drying track (a 1:11.2 was the fastest lap last year). I'll wait for further confirmation in FP3/Qualifying before declaring this to be true. Any of you watching FP1/FP2 get the feeling that Ferrari were quicker than Mercedes?

I'd be very surprised if it did happen.
Modern F1 doesn't do high speed sweeping corners.

If they do they'll probably put in some chicanes here and there to slow them down on the parts they can't build big run offs.

Something like this instead maybe in red with the Hella-Licht chicane also.
Very rough, but an extra curve, big chicane and taking an earlier turn at the big curve to increase run off area, with a big long straight joining the new circuit.

The big curve you referred to, which has various names, still exists (I've driven round that section very recently), so I'd be surprised if they want to reprofile it. Let's see.
