Very frosty reception for Rosberg at Silverstone today. I wonder if it will mess with his head like the reception he got after Spa?
Can't wait to join in the boos.

But who's your pantomime villain, Rosberg or Hamilton? hehe

He was originally bought in because they couldn't agree details of a new contract with Bernie, so he was bought in to do the deal and seems to have made himself at home. Bit like Uncle Albert in Only Fools & Horses..

I've lost all interest in the race at the front. Hoping for a good showing from Vestappen and Bottas.

Should cost me about £20 for the day, that's petrol for the bike and a burger and chips. Bargain.

Silverstone will be packed again this year..... like it is every year. There will probably be more people attending tomorrow than for Race Day in Austria! The British Grand Prix is a real highlight of the year!!!!

It is expensive, £195 to stand/sit on the grass, but, you get three days admission and 6 1/2 hrs of F1. You get 2 GP2 races, one long one not so long, 2hrs. You get 2 GP3 races 1hr. You get Porsche Cup races 1hr. You get 4 concerts with Fridays being a full set from Texas for the middle aged..... one from Mike and Mechanics (apt), Scouting for girls for the kids and a.n.other nobody... Air displays on 2 days.

Compare all that to a premier league match £60 odd quid or more for 90mins of action. £100+ pounds for Boxing which more than likely finishes in less 3minutes, it doesn't look so bad
And you get all that for £85 in Hungary and that's for a grandstand ticket (that's what I paid last year). Not knocking the British Grand Prix, I absolutely love it but the prices are getting crazy

Please don't.

And I see team orders are off the table right now. Probably wise, can you imagine how the fans would react if Lewis got told to maintain station behind Nico for a 1-2............. Not that I suspect Lewis would obey such an order in any event!

Mercedes allow their drivers to race freely after a meeting back at the factory. Phew!

You must admit, LH doesn't seem bothered by the talk with bosses.

Sat at Village - it's bloody freezing! Thankfully drying out, might make for some interesting first few practice laps.

I doubt Hamilton cares - he's made enough money and achieved enough to be happy even if he retires tomorrow.

More likely is he expects he is going to win this WDC - I would bet that Nico has been given a harsher talking to than Lewis (I am biased however I see most of the issues being of Nico's doing and failure to engage in wheel to wheel combat).

And he knows Ferrari want him. So if next year's car is not as good, he has an option available for 2018.....

I watched the full press conference, it sounds like the bosses didn't come down too hard on either drivers (unlike the aftermath of Spa '14), although Lewis seemed a little subdued in the conference...normally he is buzzing in a British GP weekend (it's not just me, the OH is a Lewis fan and she picked up on it). Loved his answer to a question on the Hungary '14 TO.

FP1 ends and it looks like fireworks between the Merc pilots. If any of you are interested in looking at the runs done on FP1, these were the tyre usage:

Pair it with the lap times published in the FIA link in the OP to read the long runs. McLaren looking better than expected, both drivers were only using the Medium tyres...Red Bull too are looking good. Look forward to seeing the long runs in FP2.
