Slightly odd that even after the notorious radio message, Nico seems to still be making full use of 7th gear?
That is odd unless (and I'll have to watch it again) the on screen graphics got confused with the jump from 6th to 8th and then was out of sync with what gear he was in. The screen graphics thinking his change from 8th to 6th was 8th to 7th and so it was one gear to high on screen when below 8th. I suppose it would probably need a setting change to jump 7th and not register as a change, maybe that is what the engineer's default 0 1 was, could it be a setting that avoids gear problems and automatically jumps the bad gear?
I don't think it was that because at one point you see him go from 6th to full WOT in "7th" then up to 8th and you can distinctly hear the change in revs at each shift. It certainly doesn't sound like he's skipping a gear.

Non paywall version of autosport article: http://www.eurosport.com/formula-1/silverstone-pla...

Attendance on the Sunday 139k, just short of last year. 350k over the whole event.

They want to improve things for fans by bringing grandstands closer to the track and increasing the number of seats, There is a suggestion of another 25k seats over 3 years.

They are also looking at holding other events at the track and working with other circuit owners to better manage costs.

Not bad for a sport "on the brink of collapse" as some would have you believe.

Silverstone still up for sale because the British GP is bankrupting the brdc, even with 1/2 price fees to Bernie. Monza under threat, how many more ?

So, sport ok, Europes participation, in danger.

They have more stands and seats than the maximum number of tickets available, it's a British thing we prefer not to sit next to anyone else. See also bag seats on trains.
