From the servustV interview by Lauda,

Interviewer states that Hamilton claims he is best mates with Rosberg,

Lauda said, “Jetzt holt der Hamilton auch noch den Weichspüler raus.”, which literally translates to: “And now, of all the things, Hamilton unpacks the fabric softener”

Lauda then said: “He lied. It’s as simple as that"

Apparently it's a German saying for "either whitewashing a situation or suddenly abandoning hostilities and unexpectedly switching to a concilliatory approach."

More to the point, why is Lauda st stirring.

Can't help but think they've fallen out, a year or so ago he had nothing but good things to say. Now he can't wait to start slinging dirt around.

Sorry about that, just find the fabric softener comment amusing,

And he did say it, it's on film. http://www.servustv.com/at/Medien/Mercedes-Friede-...

denying it doesn't make it a non-story. Interesting insight if actually said (and denial no proof of the opposite, either) wink

What does Lauda bring to the team? Serious question.

Not sure but he bought f**k all to Jaguar (and Ferrari when he was a consultant).

The best drivers are not always the best managers. Even a thinker like Prost failed at managing a team.

Lauda is there so they have someone to fire if they don't win.

Wolff's position is similar.

The difference is Lauda is fully aware of this and Wolff hasn't a clue / is too far up his own bottom.

He was originally bought in because they couldn't agree details of a new contract with Bernie, so he was bought in to do the deal and seems to have made himself at home. Bit like Uncle Albert in Only Fools & Horses..

Very frosty reception for Rosberg at Silverstone today. I wonder if it will mess with his head like the reception he got after Spa?

What time will qualifying be on? I'm on a 12 hour shift and get a 1 hr break and would like to catch it.
