Qualifying under safety car now? I wouldn't put it past the FIA the way they are behaving lately.
Wouldn't surprise me either I don't know why they bother with full wet tyres these days, as soon as conditions are too bad for the inters, the safety car comes out.

Button on pole then?
That would be nice. Not completely unlikely either.Rain is the great leveler and really brings out the real talents.
That's why my heart breaks when rain stops play these days.
And it's just been announced that the qualifying has been delayed.
I am despairing already.

It's a good point.... Mansell has been pointing to the same point on Twitter. The rain really does mix up the racing / qualifying and shows a whole different skill-set. It seems that 'Full Wets' are all but redundant. They seem to delay driving until the track is dry enough for an almost immediate switch to Inters..Rain is the great leveler and really brings out the real talents.

Although we are moaning with some justification based on recent history......... to be fair the track does have a hell of a lot of standing water on it..... aquaplaning would be a serious risk and that really is dangerous.
I'd have to agree with that given those last shots of the Safety car.Don't parc fermé rules cause challenges these days?
I may have this wrong, but I'm sure they're not allowed to make proper wet / dry setup changes these days, so nobody will want to set up for wet qualifying, as they have to then start a dry race with a wet setup. Obviously, if cars are running a dry setup, they're going to have issues with the floor potentially being under water in wet conditions.
