So you can fly through double waved yellows and set a purple sector and it's all good. Hmmm
He clearly lifted more than normal, given the precedent the FIA set with Hulkenberg in Austria (tiniest lift was considered acceptable) I don't foresee a penalty here.

I know some were doing a rain dance before hand but IMO this just proves the session would have been better without the rain as the only real change to the grid is Raikkonen being out of position.... Q1 was tedious and then the damp track ultimately denied us the final shoot out.
Double wave yellows, prepare to stop. I'm sorry but you shouldn't be setting purple sectors in any way shape or form.

It's so cringeworthy listening to that little c*nt Rosberg whooping into the radio like he earned that.
Hes just got no humility has he, when most drivers might give you a slightly embarrased little smile at being gifted something.
dry your eyes, lads rofl
I think his reaction after getting pole at Monaco in 2014 showed how much of an idiot he is
You're right. People's reactions can sometimes make them look unsporting. hehe

Massive difference between LH and NR in double yellow zone, LH slowed car enough to be able to stop, NR lifted.

Question is did LH slow too much or NR not enough?

I think his reaction after getting pole at Monaco in 2014, jumping around like an idiot shows how much of an idiot he is.

I think the title is written in the stars for him
Or his "win" in '15

Certainly that could not be interpreted as 'being prepared to stop' ?

Would be fine for just a yellow but as said hulkenberg got away with it, So a merest lift is acceptable under double yellows, dangerous precedent to set.

its not either/or, though, is it? LH slowed a lot. That was his judgement. Maybe it cost him pole. NR lifted. That was his judgement. This gave him pole.

You only need to lift so far as I am aware.

Quite the opposite, they must be delighted with all of the coverage!

Two waved yellow flags at the same post means that drivers must slow down and be prepared to stop if necessary.

Is a slight lift considered slowing car, is that even possible setting a purple sector?

If they allow NR to get away with this they will all be doing it

I guess we will find out, since Horner is calling it into question, therefore, presumably it will be clarified by the stewards/Whiting.

Ok,, get you

Not arguing the Nico lifts acceptability, just that a double yellow, is a double yellow regardless of if the hazard has actually gone.

Think cars need a speed limiter operable by race control, such that under doubles or vsc, they can slow the cars to a "safe" speed without drivers interpreting and therefore pushing the boundary.

I have now. I'm reading in order.

I don't think this is quite Ratners! And I don't see much chance of those boardings doing any real damage to a driver.

I hope it sticks, with Hamilton on pole I'm sure he would just run away with it, however with him behind rosberg means there could be an interesting overtaking situation coming up:-)
