Whatever my feelings about Bernie, i feel for his mother in law. Bernie is an old git, so his M.I.L must be very elderly indeed!

His wife is about 50 years younger than him, predictably.

18 years his junior. You know how it works right?

Hopefully a swift outcome and an unharmed MIL. He isn't a man I'd want to cross.

It is almost a business out there, with mores and expectations. The likelihood is that she will be returned safe, although it will have been an ordeal for her.

Really an horrific place to live if you are rich or have connections to money.

Maybe not the right time, but here's what he said about his son in law a couple of years ago:

‘James has got another car following him with so-called bodyguards, but nobody’s going to kill him,’ said 83-year-old Mr Ecclestone.
‘I told him: “If any one wanted to kill you, which they don’t, those guys that are driving in that car ain’t going to help.”
‘I think he got this from America. Everyone who wants to be known there has to have a bodyguard.’

Straight from the dailymail of course...

So this year could be the last GP at Interlagos if this goes badly.

I love the fact that in the photo in the BBC article, the caption has to state that Mrs. Ecclestone is the one on the left.

I imagine we'll find out in the end that Bernie was behind it. MIL get's returned, his wife is very grateful for a week or so and he gets to write £28 million of against tax. biggrin

Bernie is not going to pay up. For one thing it's against the law to pay a ransom.

I am waiting to see how he turns this to his advantage, beyond the free publicity that is.

Watch and learn from the master.
