It wasn't. It was just cars in a line and then tiptoeing through the stadium section. But I don't remember the circuit from pre second chicane. Changed after Depailler lost his life there, I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by5vebOg2TE

Yes but with DRS & Push to Pass that these F1 Cars have there is no way there wouldn't be overtaking Jez

LH: It's a much easier track (on which) to overtake. But that doesn't mean you can but it is much easier, it's one of the easier ones.
Q: And your thoughts just on that first corner and then the run down to turn two?
LH: Only one car can go through turn one so it's whoever gets there first.

But reading between the lines, it does sound like the German parent company want the not-really-German driver of the not-really-German F1 team to win at the German GP doesn't it.

When you say reading between the lines, you mean totally based on Hamilton's comments post qualifying, because he was pis*** at losing out to Rosberg?But reading between the lines, it does sound like the German parent company want the not-really-German driver of the not-really-German F1 team to win at the German GP doesn't it.

That said, I don't believe that drivers should be punished for team mistakes. Points penalties for drivers or constructors depending on who made the mistake would be far more appropriate than blanked punishments.

That said, I don't believe that drivers should be punished for team mistakes. Points penalties for drivers or constructors depending on who made the mistake would be far more appropriate than blanked punishments.
And I fully agree drivers should be being penilised for teams mistakes...take point off them in the constructors championship instead

I hope I'm wrong but if they are enforcing rules like no racing after the first corner that's pathetic of Mercedes and I hope it backfires on them spectacularly. It would make all their words about allowing them to race look like outright lies.

You do realise Indycars race at circuits more so than ovals & they overtake each other on those too.
Wasn't that happening at Baku?
They have both of those in F1 don't they?

Overtake Mode (which they can only use for so long during a race due to fuel useage & component stress) which is what I was referring to as Push to Pass
