Schumacher? I see him in the same light as Armstrong. Forget the '7' bit. Both wouldn't have won if they'd have stayed 'clean'. Remember the black flags?

Damon should have been a double champion at least. How many more were robbed of F1 titles?

Sorry, it's sad what's happened but we'll never know the full truth. Will we.
BS. One of the worst posts I've ever read on PH

Ted Kravitz is a Hamilton fan boy.

When Hamilton was unsafely released into Grosjean path during this weekends FP1 (or 2?), he said that it didn't help that Grosjean was "barrelling down the pit lane.". I assume "barrelling" was doing the pit lane speed limit seeing as I'm not aware of a speeding in the pit lane violation for Grosjean...

On track Hamilton is virtually peerless.

Off track, he can leave himself open to a bit of banter for his holier than thou/blessed/ever so 'umble routine and his, frankly, spectacularly awful fashion fails.

He is a character, which is great for the sport.

His fans, sadly, are often super-defensive and unpleasant, which is a pity.
His Mercedes is virtually peerless. As Massa proved on Lewham's first WDC and Rosberg proves every GP since.

Fully agree, exactly felt the same way when Lewham won at Silvestone.
Is Lewham predictive text gone wrong or your pet name for him? wink

I like F1 and I'm a huge Hamilton fan because pound for pound, he's the best racer on the grid and British, which helps. I can see why some people don't like him some of the time but like any driver, when it doesn't go their way, they can be downright moody R. Soles.

Avoid twitter and facebook if childish insults and fanboys annoy you. Stick with forums, you'll never come across any numpties there. Allegedly.

Nope, I've just been busy doing st while managing to fit Quali in and catch up with Ted's notebook, but ironically your comments are the sort I would expect from a Hamilton fanboy.

So what direction do you think I was hoping the thread would go in?

I was talking about the single minded nut jobs who support Hamilton as if he is some sort of God, not Hamilton himself, and many people seem to have agreed with me, so what are you on about?

This is the sort of bks I was talking about - the suggestion that people are only critical of Hamilton if they are racist or just bored pretty much sums it up:

The trouble is OP, that most people who use the term Fanboy are single minded nut jobs who start the childish name calling as soon as someone says something positive about Hamilton. Then they try to claim the moral high ground (after the childish name calling) with this 'I'm a real F1 fan' bks..... That's the kind of nonsense that you seem to have to expect on here unfortunately.

Actually, Kravitz is just an idiot.
I couldn't quite believe it when he said that, he really insinuated that Grosjean had done something wrong (the worst he did was brake late to ensure that the officials saw it as an unsafe release).

I'm in the minority here, but I think the sky coverage is dismal. Which is made all the worse by the fact that they have no excuse. They have great access and great technology. But the presenters are just awful.

Hamilton is the best racer on the grid. Full stop. He beat world champion Alonso in his first season in F1; a spectacular debut... having already beaten everyone in lower formulae also. Some people just can't stomach it. It's really that simple. Why they can't stomach it will be for a myriad of reasons; most likely, LH doesn't fit the image of what they believe an F1 driver should be.

On a personal level; we will all have our favourites. Vettel would be who I'd have a beer with... but as far as F1 racing goes; Hamilton is rightfully the most popular driver. He is the most exciting racer to watch and that for me, is where it ends. Max is coming up as another favourite of mine in that respect. And Ricciardo has his moments also.

Complaining about one drivers fanboys is lame. You should move on and find something better to worry about.

I also have heard (though I know not how true) of stories about Lewis interacting with fans behind closed doors, and being late for things because he doesn't rush them and spends a LOT of time with the kids etc I expect it is true!
I agree. He took the time to show g/son around the AMG Motorhome yesterday.

Great picture! One for the family album. beer

Oh no, I think many agree with you. It is banal, tabloid oriented rubbish with a clear agenda to manufacture controversy. Kravitz, Croft and 'sortof' Herbert are weapons grade bell***s. I really could not care less about football, sausages or all the other bull***t they witter on about constantly.

In the absence of alternatives for live races I have to watch it and if they didn't have Brundle, Davidson and Hill then it would truly be unwatchable.

Same number of wins and points but yes he finished higher.

Still don't think there is much between Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel but has Alonso ever driven a dominant car?

Didn't they use count back to determine position even though the points were equal - still think Alonso was a tad lucky to claw it back.

Alonso seems to be good at extracting the maximum from lesser cars.

Pure fantasy but I would like to see LH, SV, FA, DR and MV all race in the same F1 car ( as opposed to Race Of Champions type competition ).

Bet the g/son was made up.

I attended the Mercedes End of Season bash at Mercedes World in 2009 and Lewis over ran on every thing he did as he seemed to enjoy meeting the fans of all ages - the driving demos in the AMG's was only brought to a close because the cars needed to recover.

For anyone who doubts Lewis or wonders about his popularity, this is a good article:

https://willthef1journo.wordpress.com/2014/11/19/t...

As far as wanting to see Vettel and Hamilton in the same car... this is the closest you'll get:

http://youtu.be/sHDmpgZ4PW0

What's depressing about the above video is that it puts F1 to shame in some ways... the equal and lengthy battle is just so brilliant to watch.

How unsporting for the folks who seem to only come to the F1 forum for one thing. More evidence he might just be a nice bloke.
