This might be a good time to post the long run calcs I did...
Hard to gauge the speed improvement of the McLaren as they were simply hanging around on the 1:55s. Qualifying should give us some indication of their potential.
As ever, look at the slope, average and the min/max times to get an idea of the pecking order...the Red Bull looks to be a match for the Merc whichever way you look so it won't be plain sailing for Rosberg at the front...and oh look Ferrari have done some homework overnight too. It's shaping up well...hope Merc don't turn it up to 11 to surprise us all.
Admit it DrZ- there's no way you're quitting these threads, your inner boffin would never allow it! Hard to gauge the speed improvement of the McLaren as they were simply hanging around on the 1:55s. Qualifying should give us some indication of their potential.

It certainly seems to be getting tighter than before in ths V6T era. I'll he interested in seeing how Rosberg copes- at the end of last season he seemed to find a new confidence, while the imperious Hamilton of 2015 seemed a memory.
If Rosberg doesn't maximise this chance I can see it being a real ego blow and a sign that Merc arent guaranteed the victory any more.

You really do have an attitude problem, don't you?

only with Brits you should have seen his comments on the Olympics in particular the cyclists.
If he sees Lewis plough through the field he might just explode
Believe me, I saw that. I'm not sure why he's here given the way he seems to feel about Brits in general.[/quote)

New engines, so could be going easy on them to check out whatever changes ?
It could simply be they are trying to save tyres as much as possible, pressures are very high (23.5 & 22, Brundle said teams would prefer to be running 18 or less), its also very warm there, so tyres are going to have a hard time.
We'll find out in about an hour!

Forecast looks like rain tomorrow.
The village of Malmedy and the circuit are under the blue rain.

Sorry, the data was too good! If the Merc looked miles in front of everybody I wouldn't have bothered! It certainly seems to be getting tighter than before in ths V6T era. I'm waiting for normal service to be resumed in a few mins.

Toto just said they are overheating the rears, so temperatures and pressures having an adverse effect.
Rain tomorrow might see max win and that crowd go bonkers.
Thanks for that. Missed it.Rain tomorrow might see max win and that crowd go bonkers.
That means a single qually lap should be OK but race pace might give us some excitement at the front.
So how many stops for Merc? LH might have to have an extra one.
I'd love to see Max win. It'd be great for the spectators, even those who support other drivers. The atmosphere would be overwhelming.

Got kyvat is so deflated, thought the break would of given him a chance to get back with it...
Wherlein, impressive.
Merc pace = confusing
I was coming to post almost the exact same thing!Wherlein, impressive.
Merc pace = confusing
That is one hell of a lap from Wherlien, whatever way you cut it he is, on pace, beating much "better" cars.
Poor Kvyat, WTF is going on....
Mercs - I think they can't cope with heat. However if it rains tomorrow it is going to be very good indeed, I suspect Lewis will romp through the pack whilst Nico goes a little backwards...
