Hi guys. I have an old scratched disc which contains corrupt MS project file 2000. The effect of the whole project or just part of it. I want to clean the disk from scratch, but I'm afraid the project is lost or I have to completely rebuild.
Secondly the project does not appear when I launch this .mpp file. How do I repair ms project file?

t-cut. rub the clear side , from centre to the edge. all you are doing is rubbing off the scratches in the clear layer. tried and trusted over many years

Google is your friend.

Can you copy the file to the computer from the CD?

If not things may get trickier. Though maybe not.

Find a data recovery company. In the vast majority of cases data can be recovered but the question becomes if its cost effective.

Worth giving these guys a call.

It's unusual for the T-cut trick not to make a disk readable. Can you send a pic

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/projectvie...

You seem to suggest that you can get access to the mpp file. If you can then try opening with a viewer - say https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/store/p/projectvie...

That may be more forgiving of errors and allow you to export it.
There are other viewers to try to.

Yeah, don't laugh but furniture polish has saved some pretty important documents for me before. Easy to try out and won't worsen the damage

I've used WD40 to make unplayable audio CD's work long enough for a good rip, it must fill in the scratches enough to make the laser work out whats what

Spray on, buff off with a brand new microfibre, quickly insert the CD and hope!
