I feel a little weird lurking into the Audi section as a previous BMW man but here goes!

A friend is dropping off his S5 convertible tomorrow for me to sell. He flies out to the states in the afternoon as he emigrates for 4 years and has asked me to sell his his car.

I'm prepping an advert but I'm lost as to what an ABT Audi really is. I know a Schnitzer or Alpina beemer is a totally different car, Its stripped down and "made better" by the tuning house but I'm not so sure about ABT. I have driven the S5 when he purchased it but I'm not sure it's any better than a S5 with body kit!

My questions...

Are there different variants of ABT cars?
Can I tell if it's a genuine ABT car or just had body kit fitted?
How rare is a 2012/2013 (I think!) ABT S5?
Do ABT have a website where I can enter a vin and find more about it?

It's a great looking car and i'm sure selling it should be easy but I'd like to know a bit more before advertising it!

Thanks in advanced for any replies.

Tack.

I'm no expert but from memory, ABT fall between using your BMW examples Alpina & aftermarket M parts.

That said, i'm also sure an ABT Audi could just be a remap with likely an exhaust & a badge, however ABT do larger conversions which include wheels, suspension, bodywork & the like, but regardless i'm pretty sure it's purely aftermarket so either replacement parts or stuck on.

I think the quality's good however but probably best to post some pictures & look at the car alongside a regular S5 to see any visual differences.

It's definitely got a body kit on, it's a great looking kit!

Will post pics once I've cleaned it!
