Outstanding - a great interview with a great journalist and 100% enthusiast. McLaren butter story made me smile. And I can guess who one of his least favourite interviewees was , even though Simon is far too well mannered to mention him by name. Used to drive a Williams quite quickly and abandoned the first person singular quiet early in his career " Yeah , so despite all the car problems and all the political stuff my team mate was up to in the garage we put the car on pole. Roseanne said we'd never been braver"

That was who I thought of as soon as Simon wouldn't give a name. I loved the story about James Hunt saying that you needed to be intelligent to be World Champion

An addendum to the story about parking on Ron Dennis' drive. A friend who knows such things told me Ron would regularly have the gravel on his drive washed. Really.

That was a cracking watch! Dining next to the house that Bruce McLaren was born in must have been special.

Just finished listening, what a cracking interview.

I hope they do another hour or more with Simon Taylor as sure there are so many more stories.

Would be nice if they did a celebratory coffee table book with all the interviews reproduced to dip into.

Judging by what they were saying it would be unmanageably big, uneconomical to produce and heinously expensive to buy!

But if he could pick his top 30 or 50 say - with all the most contrasting personalities, showing the massive variety of people in the sport - I'd buy it

They have, about 3-4 years ago - but it doesn't contain all of them. Well worth buying though .

You should listen to the interview with Frank Dernie - no qualms about mentioning him by name.... hehe

There's a book with 25 interviews in. Just waiting for it to turn up now.

Excellent pod cast, the quality of the guests of late has been really good.

Will be listening when I get home from work. I'm a big fan of his interviews, and Motorsport magazine in general.
