Hi chaps, I would like to buy something from the USA, they only accept Visa or Mastercard, and the exchange rate my natwest credit card is giving me is quite horrific. The amount is about 1000 USD and wondering if there would be any way of attaining a better exchange rate please.

Do you have any other credit cards? Nationwide, Halifax Clarity?

Look at the travelex supercard, that will charge you the std travelex rate and no fees. Its free too.

I would only pay with a credit card, not debit - assuming no fees?

The 2 I've mentioned have the best exchange rates otherwise you need someone to await a currency bod coming along wink

Thanks, is the reason for not using debit card due to protection one gets when buying with credit card?

Yes. S75 could be important to you though I'm not fully aware of your circumstances.

Remember you will have chargeback protection on a debit card but there are criteria to fulfill either way.
